My Gift to Ted Roland, President of K&H Windows: A DICTIONARY. Inside this important and rare manuscript are a handful of words so easily misunderstood and so easily misused. WORD #1: After. Notice the meaning of "after" as separate from the meaning of "because." WORD #2: Completed. Variation on "complete," meaning "having all necessary or normal parts, components, or steps." Secondary definition: "thorough; consummate." Example usages from the dictionary: "a complete coward." Other misunderstood and often misused phrases: "bent over backwards," "lack of response," "had no choice," "stand behind our work." And my gift to "well over 1,000 homeowners a year" ... My sympathies.

K&H Windows did not file a lawsuit against Eric because he complained to the Better Business Bureau and the Tom Martino Troubleshooter Network. K&H filed the lawsuit because after K&H completed its work, Eric refused to pay the amount he owed as set forth in the contract he signed. K&H provides a Lifetime Guarantee and we informed Eric we would stand behind our work and take care of any additional service that might be needed. We responded to Eric's complaints against us to both the Better Business Bureau and Tom Martino Troubleshooter Network. Both organizations felt that our response and offer to resolve the issues were both reasonable and fair, but Eric refused to even respond to those offers. K&H bent over backwards to try working out the issues Eric raised, but due to his total lack of response and refusal to pay the amount he owed on the contract, K&H had no choice but to file a lawsuit to collect the money Eric owes. As a company, we regret any situation that reaches this point. However, K&H works with well over 1,000 homeowners a year and Eric is the only one that required us to go to such lengths in a number of years.
