I purchased a 2003 Kia Sedona in November 2002. The van ran great for a few months. In March 2003 with 1100 miles on the vehicle, I was complaining that the engine seemed to be loosing power. From this time until July 2003 all I had was problems. Battery, alternator you name it, the van would just not run. I brought to the dealership one last time before a 2200 mile trip I needed to take to see family. The van was fixed and I was assured that everything would be ok.

Upon arriving at my destination, I drove the van for 1 day and yet again, it was out of commission again. (Keep in mind that I am in a different state and do not know a soul at this dealership.) The van was towed to the Kia dealership in the city I was in. They had this van in their possession for over a week. I had to extend my stay for three extra days.

Because I was alone with two kids driving half way across country to get home I requested that they give me a rental car to get there. KIA would not approve this and forced me to drive this vehicle back to Massachusetts. I was in Alabama!! So off we went my two children and I. Sure enough the car broke down again in Virginia (they did pay for my hotel room) and the next day I was on my way again.

Upon arriving in Massachusetts, the first thing I did was drop off the vehicle to the dealership. I never again picked up that car again I refused to. I had to fight with them to replace the car or buy it back. They actually wanted me to take delivery on a brand new one. This was out of the question.

Because I feel that the dealership was not at fault. I feel that KIA was ultimately responsible for this dilemma. I agreed to buy another car at the same dealership. KIA agreed to buy the car back however when I went for the second loan on a different car, I was forced to pay 14.99% interest on the new loan. I at this point had no other choice. I needed to have a car to get back and forth to work. So I am now having to pay about 500.00 per month on a car that is two years older than the KIA. Thanks for absolutely nothing!!
