Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This cat breeder had obviously not taken the cats I had purchased to the vet. I paid a higher price for them because they were to be breeding stock. I paid in cash (big mistake) & brought the cats to see the vet the first business day after our arrival home. I paid for all transportation costs & vet fees to find these cats all had round worms & had total protien levels (minor blood work) higher than acceptable by my vet for my breeding program.

I treated these cats for the worms & paid the shipping for them to be sent back to Lois. This complete process took only 7 days for the cats to be driven to my home, see the vet & be flown back to Lois. When I notified Lois by phone of the problems (within 3 days) & the need to return the cats, I was instructed by Lois for the time and day she would be at the airport to receive the cats & that she would return my money. After our conversation, she began sending emails to not refund my money.

It has been almost a year since the cats have been sent back & I still have no resolution. I went to a great deal of expense for the travel portion of these cats as well as vet fees. Since Lois feels all these cats are sale-able & has already sold at least one of them (to someone else, not as a breeder), why is she unwilling to refund my money as originally promised... RIPPED OFF or DUPED

I contacted our common registry for some resolution & they don't get involved in contractual agreements. However, my complaint stays on a permenant record for her registered cattery. I still feel the need to file with the BBB & Attorney Generals Office in WI.

I am astounded to hear the slander of the Koblizek Siamese name and its owner Lois.  After 30 years and over 25 cats placed with my friends and family due to their contact with my cats purchased from Lois and her husband Frank {now deceased} I can not believe what I'm hearing.  I have nor has anyone else had any issues with with the Koblizek cattery that I'm familiar with.  I have been going to her cattery like I said for 30 yrs {when it was in Woodburn Oregon} and have never seen any filth, QUITE THE CONTRARY!  My last cat that passed was 21 yrs old and all of the other cats placed from her cattery have lived to old ages, NONE of which have ever had ANY health problems.

It's my opinion this is one of those customers that every business owner dreads and I hope any cat fancier that sells to this person reads these posts.  I would not sell to this person!!!!

No Defense for DISHONEST BUSINESS OWNER

#3Author of original report

This business owner has flat out lied about the fact of verbal statements to refund my purchase price. In all honesty, will you deal with someone like this? Her friend agrees with this behavior. Gee, the referrals may get you in the same position I was with this breeder.

I have letters from this Siamese breeder changing her reasons for not refunding my cash. In these letters, the business owner also changes her decisions on conditions of the refund. Conclusion; I was RIPPED OFF and LIED TO from the start.

I have a copy of the blood work which was done after I returned the cats to the breeder. The veterinarian in WI which examined the 5 year old male after his return stated the 5 year old has a Hyperglobulinemia, Hyperglycemia and Hypercholesterolemia as results of this blood work. Again, in all honesty, would you want the parentage of your kitten to have any known health issues?

This 5 year old male cat went to another friend of this breeder to be put into another breeding program. Does the new owner know about these health issues? Do you really want to deal with people like this?

If you choose to deal with this business; BEWARE. The same thing can and may happen to you. I encourage you to ask to see all veterinary records (not that there will be any or you will get all of them) and make payment with a check. A check can have the payment stopped.

Don't expect to believe this business will follow through with the resolution they originally present to you. This business received all follow through on my end and none on their end. I sent the cats back according to their schedule and still no completion from her end. Buyer Beware!!!

Remember, Blessings and Purrs in the closing of the emails don't clearly represent this business and the owner. Don't expect any honesty of this business or its owner. This owner knows exactly what she said about putting my cash in an envelope to send it back to me the next day!!!

I also purchased a breeder/show kitten from Koblizek Siamese in 2005. Since that time the kitten went on to become a CFA Grand Champion and Great Lakes regional winner. She has given me several beautiful litters of kittens. I also had the experience of taking my kitten to the vet (the same day I purchased her from Lois). The kitten was FeLV/FIV negative (main thing!) and did not test postitive for roundworms or other parasites.

A couple of things are notable regarding this person's complaint: 1. Mother cats often carry roundworm eggs that become active during pregnancy, these are then passed on to the kittens. This is common knowledge. Most breeders routinely deworm kittens prior to sale. Also the vet could have given some meds for the worms. Round worms are not fatal or something to be greatly alarmed about. In addition, you can purchase "De-Worm" from the Doctor Foster Smith catalogue on line. 2. What kind of protein is incompatible with her breeding stock? Excuse me?!!! Perhaps it would have been advisable to have blood tests performed and compared BEFORE you purchased the kittens. I have never, ever heard of proteins being incompatible between breeding stock and I've been a breeder since 1985. 3. Lastly, you stated that you had a VERBAL contract with Koblizek Siamese. You should know that a contract must be in writing and signed by both parties. There is no such thing as a verbal contract. Now you know.

I believe Lois did the right thing to even allow you to return the kittens. She didn't even have to do that. She did it for the protection of the kittens who had mistakenly gone to someone who did not know what he/she was doing. You should be thankful she took them back. She does not owe you a cent. Furthermore, I think you should do much more research on cat breeding and genetics. I have found a wealth of information that has done well for me over the years. A good book is "Feline Genetics and Animal Husbandry" by Niels Pedersen. Lois is also a great source of information. You need to talk to someone who is experienced in breeding and get some help with what you're attempting to do.

DIS-HONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES EXPOSED

#5Author of original report

Sun, January 03, 2010

From Lois' perspective, I guess I was stupid to trust that she would do as she said she would, when she wanted to put my cash in an envelope and send it to me immediately. I suggested money orders, because I am reasonable!!! This whole incident has soured my faith in Humanity. I trusted her. Don't make the same mistake.

I could tell you many truthful things about this business and the lack of cleanliness and lack of regular veterinary care. However, the issue at hand is the fact that the agreement to return my purchase price has not been honored.

I have exposed this woman and her business for the very thing that others have probably given-up on...We had a business agreement that should appear very reasonable to most. When Lois decided to renege, I assured her I would expose her to many. I also assured her, I could ammend all if she fulfilled her responsibility to our agreement.

I encourage you to request all veterinary records on any cat or kitten you are interested in purchasing. Request Corona Virus information. After all, Lois has not shared the reason for the return of these cats with any of the new owners or breeders. What makes you think she will be honest with you???

Whether you are an individual or a breeder, IF YOU VALUE YOUR CATS, don't deal with this breeder. A cat having Corona Virus can be a carrier, pass the virus on, or have the virus mutate. When the virus mutates, FIP is the result.

I love my cats!!! They are vetted regularly and tested regularly. I had no problem finding a good breeder after this ordeal. When I say good breeder, she vets her cats and tests when necessary. For some reason, Lois considers vetting and testing too costly. Which breeder would you want?

Don't be a victim (I am sure other people have had similar problems with Lois) pay for your purchase with a check. You can stop payment on a check!!!!

This business has NOT SATISFIED their obligation in this situation. I ask you; Would you consider it reasonable, that when you return livestock in better condition than when you received it (because you care about the new and existing live stock in the cattery) and you were assured a refund - that it should come easily and not as a shunned responsibility? And the responsibility to the new buyers should be complete disclosure of any possible health issues...Reasonable? YES!!! If you still choose to deal with this breeder, you may learn the hard way, as I have.

It is now more than two years later.  These cats are all healthy, the female is producing kittens and the stud male is taking care of females.  How can she say these cats were sick?  Why didn't her vet send documentation that the cats were not fit for breeding?  Why did her vet state on the health certificates the cats were healthy? Of course I told her that I would refund if the cats were documented as unfit for breeding.  She couldn't produce the documentation simply because there was nothing wrong with any of them.  She also insisted that she wanted them vetted by her vet.  She never mentioned Corona virus testing. Why didn't she have her vet test them for Corona virus?  Why didn't she even have her vet do a full blood panel? She did a pin p***k blood draw to test protein levels which were normal.

I can give anyone 30 years of referrals if you are interested. I guess the law of averages says that one day you will run in to someone like Tanya.  They walk among us.

TRUTH AND PROOF OF DEALING WITH THIS BUSINESS

#7Author of original report

Sat, January 02, 2010

The truth of the matter remains, my purchase price has not been refunded as originally agreed, by Lois & myself.

Again, truth of the matter, these cats (which were returned and have been sold or bred) have not been Corona Virus tested or the new owners made aware that there may be an issue with FIP, a disease fatal to cats and kittens.

I have the letter which Lois wrote to change the terms of our original agreement. You see, since it is in writing, I can prove that what Lois writes here and what she wrote to me are two different stories!!!!!

In her letter which contained a $500 check, she is willing to send me $800 for the female CONDITIONALLY, if I remove all charges from the internet and notify the Better Business Bureau that this matter is resolved. I refuse to change the original terms of our agreement!

Since Lois has the money, it seems as though she will not return it as she had originally said. All the while, if she had refunded as she said she would, $2,100, when this all started. I would not have had to expose her.

Lois has blamed my vet (I have letters to prove this), blamed me for making bad decisions (I have the letters to prove this) and has not accepted responsibility for her verbal agreement with me. This I can not prove (verbal agreement).

Please realize, Lois has been very nasty (I have the letters to prove this). I guess you need to cut others down when you have faults of your own and don't want to accept responsibility for returning money which you agreed to do.

Beware of this woman, she has reneged on our original verbal agreement and will also make you believe she is a reputable breeder. Ask to vet records for your purchase before buying and pay with a check, in case you need to stop payment. Don't get burned like I did...

False Charge that I sold medically unfit cats.

#8REBUTTAL Owner of company

Her nebulous charge that protein levels above 7, when values are within normal limits, renders cats unfit for breeding is simply absurd.  I will refund if there is a legitimate medical problem that I missed, or even if the animal refuses to accept its new situation.  I made it very clear that her charge did not meet refund requirements.

Fast forward two years:  In order to resolve this situation I sent her the $500.00 I got for petting out the male kitten.  It is now more than 6 months later and the check has not been cashed.  My bank has stopped payment as of today.  The female  remains with me.  She did well in the show ring.  She has delivered a litter of beautiful kittens and raised them.  She is now rebred. I offered Tanya the full amount of $800.00 refund for her after she had this litter.  Tanya refused it.

The adult male, a beautiful Fairydust Champion boy went to another breeder where he has produced kittens with multiple females.  Contact me for a referral to this breeder. None of these cats have been sick or been to a vet.

Most problems can be resolved by reasonable people.  She did not have a right to any refund but I tried to meet her half way.  She blew it off.  How do you prove a cat is unfit for breeding when it is reproducing and healthy? The question remains: How do you deal with stupid?  They walk among us.

FILED WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU

#10Author of original report

Thu, October 01, 2009

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in WI with the same facts presented here. To no avail, Koblizek Siamese has not refunded my money as originally discussed and the complaint is still on file with the BBB as not resolved. After speaking with an attorney, it would cost more than my refund to pursue this through a court of law. As Lois has said she would refund if I did this or that, she has never followed through. However, she did offer a $500 check and another $800 to follow if I would agree to retract all of my story from everywhere. After all the time and money spent through this whole ordeal, I will not be satisfied with less than my complete $2,100.00 purchase price. I also told her this. I suggest that you check my story with the BBB in WI if you have any doubt about the validity of my dealings with this business. I urge you to beware of this business and do not trust the signature in the emails of "Blessings and Purrs" which is part of my downfall. I may still go to the Attorney General in WI as a last resort. Don't be duped...

The report filed by "Duped" is patently false. This is the correct version. She was here for part of 3 days. She wanted them vetted by her vet. There was no contract but I automatically refund if there is a health issue. Round worms are common, aren't a health issue, they are easily corrected. Normal protein levels are 6-8.9. My cats were within normal limits. They were also on a raw meat diet which would elevate it some. I asked for a second opinion. She refused. Her vet was requested to send her documented findings to my vet that the cats were medically unfit. No response from her vet. She was told several times that without medical evidence there would be no refund. She returned the cats anyway. Health certificates from her own vet stated they were healthy. She filed a complaint with Cat Fanciers Association. I provided blood panels and medical evidence from my vet as to their health. CFA threw out her complaint. If she had a case she could take me to court. I have documentation to prove she doesn't have a case. She never returned registration papers. I refuse to be responsible for unwise decisions made by buyers. She could have sold the cats as there were no restrictions.
