I went to Kwic Kar on Matlock Rd in Arlington , Tx for an oil change and inspection sticker on my 2007 Mazda CX-7. They had the nerve to tell me I had an engine light on, and to take the car and have it serviced. I immediately took it to Mazda because my understanding was at "0" why I couldnt get an inspection on a brand new car basically. Mazda said your engine light is not on, I pointed to what they thought was an engine light.

I explained Kwic Kar said they received some codes they didnt understand on their machine and to have it checked out, she said ok we will check it out, she said Kwic Kar left my engine on while putting my car on the machine, so she reset my electronic codes and explained they would be happy to give ma an inspection sticker, I explained I didnt want to pay twice, I would just take the receipt back to Kwic Kar explaining my car was fine.

Well when I returned and showed the mechanic (supposely) that he had my engine light confused with a normal light, he said Oh! He then wanted to put my car back on the machine, I said no, especially when they had already messed it up. I asked (Jimmy, manager) for a refund, he was rude and told me NO because they had already inspected the car, I told him then I wanted the portion back for my sticker, he still said no. They were so rude, I left in tears, I was so mad. Its like they took my money to make sure I came back to them.

Nothing was wrong with my car, the received the money for my inspection sticker and no sticker. I wouldnt take my enemies car there.

why you didn't get a refund

the only way to get a refund form a state inspection is if they over charged you. Seeing how you paid $39.75 for the inspection this isn't the case. When you go to have the car inspected, you don't pay for a sticker, nor are you garanteed one, the $39.75 is a state labor charge so the inspector can do the test. The 39.75 has to be paid on the intial exam PASS OR FAIL however the reinspection is free provided that you bring your car back in less than 15 days after the day you fail. if he gave you a refund he would've been breaking the law, which for a state inspector, means dire consequeces.
