Several months ago I ordered a product from Lane Bryant Catalog, and was asked if I wanted to use my credit card which I did. During this period of time I was taking care of my terminally ill mother at her house and was not checking my mail regularly and missed paying this bill on time.

I was contacted by WFNNB I assume this is the bank that is representing their collection department. I was told what my balance was and I apoligized for being late and paid the amount the collector said my balance was $70.00 +. In July, 3 months later the same collection bank called again and said that I owed them $64.36. When I said that I was under the impression that the bill was paid they said that this was all late charges I was paying because of a $20.00 late charge which I got as a result of them not receiving my payment on time in April.

I told them I would pay the $20.00 late charge but that I didn't think I owed the other late fee's and finance charges. The person at the other end said that would not be satisfactory and that they would be calling me every 5 days until this amount was paid. The payment is due on the 8th of August and they said that they would keep on adding finance charges until the payment is paid.

I was not receiving the monthly bills they say they sent me.

I feel like they should have called me immediately after the initial $20.00 late charge was put on my account in order for me to avoid the additional late charges. If they are in the practice of calling every 5 days like they said why didn't I receive a call sooner? Also, I asked the caller to please turn it in to collection. How else do I tell them that I do not agree with the terms of the Credit Card? They refused to turn it over to collection for $64.36. They said that they would just keep on increasing it every month until it is paid.

My feeling is that they are making more money on their financing then they do on their product. I have other credit cards and have received late charges in the past and the card company knows that I have always paid my bills on time and have excused my late payment as a favor. I have always prided myself on keeping my credit clean and this offended me.
