On May 29th 2007 my car was sent to Lehman Hyundai for replacement of my motor. I spoke with Orlando Mancina initially regarding my car. I told him that the engine in my car needed to be replaced and that I was looking for a rebuilt engine. He told me he needed to get a quote for me and he would call me back. He verbally quoted me $2100.00 for the engine and informed me that if there was anything else wrong, that would be fixed as well and I would be notified of any additional charges. I agreed.

A week had passed and I had heard nothing about the status of my car so I contacted Mr. Mancina. He told me that they had not been able to start working on my car yet. I then contacted the service manager, Albert Moas, who informed me that the wrong engine was put in my car and they had ordered the correct one. It was then, that I was told that a "used" engine was being put into my car. Knowing nothing about cars, I agreed, as I had not had my car in over a week and was under the impression that a used engine would run properly.

I picked up my car on June 11th 2007. Less than 48 hours had passed before the engine in my car stalled. I had it towed to Lehman Hyundai once again on the 13th of June. The service advisor Alan Valdez informed me that the cam sensor from the engine installed in my car was bad. They replaced it. This is when I was told that everything besides the engine was not covered, but because it had only been 48 hours, they would take care of it. This is when I started to worry.

On June 23rd my car was towed to Lehman Hyundai for a third time because the engine had once again stalled. This time it was a crank sensor. Orlando Mancina was the service advisor assigned to the repair this time and informed me once again, this wasn't covered, but Lehman Hyundai would take care of it.

No other major problems have happened between then and now, however my car still hesitates when I accelerate or decelerate. This is what had happened each time it had stalled before. So once again I brought it to Lehman Hyundai and again spoke with Orlando Mancina on the 19th of July.

This time he advised me that in his opinion, he thought it was a spark plug or something having to do with it. He told me that I would be charged $84.99 to diagnose the problem and then whatever it cost to fix it. At that time I told him I wasn't going to be paying that. I told him that I felt as though I was being taken advantage of and that I originally asked for a rebuilt engine. He disputed that with me. Unfortunately there was no written estimate to prove either side of the debate.

I also asked him how old the engine was that was put in my car and how many miles the car had when the engine was taken out. He told me that he didn't have that information, nor did I need it.
