I stayed in this facility 8 years ago and I can see that it hasn't changed since I was there.  It's supposed to be a place to heal from addiction and abuse issues, but there is no healing here.  It's like a really bad assisted living facility with a mean staff and nothing to do.  I believe their intention is to create crisis within the clients who live here, in order to have a reason to keep people as long as they can, and milk them for as much money as they can get.  Unhappy emotionally unhinged clients can be manipulated into staying----their sadness can be blamed on their issues----and the staff did it's best to keep everyone in that place.  I was told I should stay ten months on the second day I was there!

Revenue is not just the first priority, but their only priority.  They are not interested in healing anyone but keeping them exactly where they are.  They encourage their "patients" to complain about their lives day in and day out, but not look at their stuff or take responsibility for getting better.  There's no accountability on the part of the staff or the clients, there's no authenticity or treatment plan, there's no therapeutic style, and there's no caring.

When I was there the staff gathered formally in one big room to gossip about every client on a regular basis.  Nothing Nothing nothing a client said was confidential. Nothing.   If you told anyone, your therapist, an intake person, a cook, an office clerk, those people reported on you immediately, so there was no safety and ultimately no one to turn to, unless you made a friend who was another client who didn't squeal on you.

I personally asked for a different therapist, as mine didn't seem to care about me or have time to see me, or help me when she did see me, (honest to god she was useless to the point where I don't even know if she even had a degree in therapy.  I know she hated her job)  The entire staff met to consider my "request" and of course they refused that request.   They said I was looking for the perfect therapist but there's no such thing, and I needed to have the experience of staying with any therapist who is just "good enough."

At a certain point I learned not to tell anyone anything, and then I was labeled "resistant" and doled out another kind of punishment to teach me.   I think people who were abused as children, who have not healed, are ideal candidates for manipulation and abuse in adulthood and that's how this place stay in business.   They just re-abuse people who's defenses are down.  I pity anyone who has ever gone there, and I hope the future candidates find this sight and take heed.
