Living Well Today Magazine (Larry Selditch Salesman) Ripped off on advertising ordered and never delivered - they won't return my calls but continue to send me bills! Chatsworth, California
Im at my wits end. We are getting bills from Living Well Magazine and we cant get anyone to call us back or get our salesman, to call us back. When we called the salesman a few weeks ago, we were able to get a young lady to answer his phone one evening and she acknowledged that was his phone and number. When she went to give him the phone, presumably he hung up. We met with the salesman, in our offices on April 13th and we paid $849 up front for advertising on the back cover of the magazine to be placed in Whole Foods in Austin, TX. the check was dated April 19th and was cashed on April 22nd (endorsed by Living Well Today and deposited into their Bank of America account). It should have been a huge red flag that the salesman didn't have a business card with him and needed a check that day. The magazine issues we were promised are not at Whole Foods at the Arboretum in Austin as promised. We even checked the other location of Whole Foods downtown. We have talked to the managers at the store and have been advised that they have no knowledge of this magazine being at their stores (they tell us there is a 3rd party management/company in place that handles these) There is no place set aside for Living Well Today magazine in either the Arboretum location or the downtown location of Whole Foods. We were told by the salesman that 12,000 of these go out the door every week which is one of the reasons we thought this might be a good investment of our marketing dollars. When we initially could not find the magazine in May, we called the salesman and he told us that we had been mistaken, that the magazine would come out in the June issue. We then got a call (claiming to be from the Living Well Today magazine) offices asking if we wanted to add to our order and add in the downtown location of the Whole Foods store. We told the caller we preferred not to that we wanted to see how the issue we ordered did and what kind of response we got from that publication.
We feel now that we were duped we were told specifically by the salesman that the display was prominent and near the cash registers and that 12,000 issues were picked up weekly.
For free publication displays in these stores, we have now learned that the displays are neither prominent - nor are they near the check out as promised. The free displays in the Whole Foods at the Arboretum are in a tight hallway tucked behind customer service and not in a trafficked area that most customers would pass while exiting the store. The area that is designated for displays at the downtown location is in the basement parking garage. Nonetheless, there is no display designated for this magazine and as far as we can tell - there is no magazine! - so it is a moot point.
We are upset to say the least. We have tried to get someone to call us. We have made 5 trips to Whole Foods to make sure we were not mistaken and perhaps that the issues would finally show up. We have made at least a dozen phone calls to the salesman and the main number at Living Well Today magazine both at 800-266-9104 and also to 800-409-4480 to no avail. We have left voice messages and talked to someone on their answering service who said they would pass along the message to someone who would call us back - but we have heard from no one.
We would like this company to return our money immediately and cancel any future billings. They not only have our $849 - they have the gall to send us invoices for future billings in the amount of $1,994.00 when they haven't produced/delivered what they promised and they won't return our calls!
