Called LIPA to discuss how my electric bill could possibly go from a little over $200 in April to almost $600 in May. They refused to discuss the account with me because it's in a family member's name, who had a stroke some time ago and is unable to speak. We provided them with a power of attourney in late 2009, whcih gives them permission to speak to me about this account, but of course they deny having it.
This is just another case of LIPA price gouging and using any reason to get out of explaining themselves. I've reported them to the New York State Governor's office and am now waiting for assistance defending myself against the LIPA cartel.
