My 2001 Acura 3.2CL was repainted to factory specification/color, with an additional two year extended warranty, for discoloration of paint, etc. My windshield had a slight chip, due to road hazards and the windshield would eventually be replaced, however not by Maaco. My insurance company and the driver whom damaged my windshield are in dispute. When the automobile was painted Maaco damaged the molding surrounding the front windshield, however was damaged during the painting process. When the dispute with my insurance company was settled and the arrived at my home, they discovered the molding was in disrepair and was damaged during the painting process. In fact it was ripped up and glued back onto the windshield, when normally it would just be popped back in. I went to the place of business and spoke directly with Jean Patrick, the person whom I conducted business with and asked if there could be a resolution. He at the time assured me he would take care of the molding and just to drop it off during business hours. I called the day I was available and spoke with Jean Patrick directly and asked if I could drop my vehicle off for molding replacement. At that time Jean Patrick informed me that he wanted to replace the entire windshield. I explained to him that the original conversation was replacement of molding and not the entire windshield, which I have already paid for and have waiting, until the molding could be changed out. I had no intentions of having Maaco replace my windshield, just the molding Maaco damaged. Additionally as the complaint was received by the Maaco establishment, I did receive the molding only after the complaint was made to the consumer protection agency. The problem which I feared would happen, is that rust has now developed in the area where the molding was not properly placed and set correctly. I would like to add an addendum to the current complaint, due to the visit where one of the owners (Tom) was passive aggressive with me when I arrived to retrieve the molding. After I contacted the Executive offices, they contacted the establishment. However they are now refusing to repair the damage and rust they have caused.
