Is anyone at all willing to come out in the open about their bad experiences with MRI be it ex employees or unhappy and dissatisfied clients (for want of a better word). ANYONE that is brave enough. They cannot sue everyone and least of all for telling the truth. It is our job to tell the world about these goings on and make sure that no-one else falls into the trap. Remember. WITHOUT CLIENTS THEY ARE FINISHED.
If no-one attends their telephone calls for inspection visits and no-one visits their exhibition stands at shows then they have NO CLIENTS, NO SALES and NO MONEY. THIS CAN ONLY HAPPEN IF PEOPLE LIKE US WHO HAVE BEEN WRONGED, COME OUT IN THE OPEN AND EXPOSE THEM TO THE MEDIA in any way we can. TV. NATIONAL PRESS ETC. MRI hate bad publicity of course they do, it will stop them getting more money. That is why they try to block everything people say. But they cannot sue everyone or shut everyone up. THERE IS STILL FREEDOM OF SPEECH. COME ON. LET'S ALL GET TOGETHER. What is the point of just whinging and whining on a forum? Who's coming on board then? I have recently left MRI after selling over 100 properties for them in different countries including Bulgaria
Let me tell you what it was like working for them
By the way not only have I not been paid any commission for the properties I've sold, but this whole experience has cost me my entire savings I'm embarrassed to say. (This is true of every rep I've spoken to it seems the only people who make money are the Regional Managers and of course the Directors)
Any hope of ever being paid my commissions (which is a tidy sum when you consider that a rep is on 10% of the 15-30% that MRI charge) vanished recently when I learned from one of their Regional Managers that they had secretly embarked on the plan to start closing many of their offices all over the World and firing their staff in re-sales and rentals which doesn't bode well for the future does it??
Like everyone who joins I was told during training the following by one of the board of Directors .This is a salesmans dream job! We fly unsuspecting Brit's and Irish in who we have hooked because of their ignorance and greed, like lambs to the slaughter. We even have a file on them detailing the private, financial information that they gave to CFP at the exhibition so we know how many properties they can afford to buy.
I was taught every trick in the book to close the sale including telling the clients lies like the mortgage company CFP and the Lawyers were independent (which I actually believed at first). CFP actually heavily participated in our training and ongoing business processes.
This was quite unethical in my opinion but I was young and impressionable and they did their best to play on this with promises of high commissions, fast cars and the sex, drugs and rock n roll lifestyle that managers and directors clearly had. If I couldn't sell to my client, my Manager would step in to do a TO (Take Over). I was ridiculed by senior Managers and Directors and on one occasion by the owner Darragh MacAnthony himself, if I couldn't sell multiple properties to the same client as that was the name of the game.
In Bansko, it was common knowledge amongst the staff that their own developments were never going to have golf views and I heard from the same Regonal Manager more recently that the builders had walked off the MRI sites as they have not been paid.
He also told me that all of the reps in Bansko had recently been fired because they were daring to sell clients something they wanted other than MRI's own developments and the Manager himself had been transferred to another Region!!
I also hear that they have recently charged their sales director who has for years single-handedly headed up their entire sales operation with the task of finding covert methods of generating new business using other companies as a front because their own name and reputation is mud! Draw your own conclusions.
Actually, I think the term spoilt child is far too flattering for them!!! Anyway I have news!! You will all be pleased to know that the Bansko sales team had their worst ever sales weekend this past weekend, and hopefully this is the result of the truth about MRI finally getting through to prospective buyers and also I believe to their sales people. They had only four sales out of ten lots of clients. Four too many if you ask me. IF YOU DON'T PAY YOUR SALES STAFF ESPECIALLY THE TOP CLOSERS AND THEN FIRE THEM FOR NO REASON, THREATENING THEM THAT IF THEY DON'T LEAVE IT COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR THEM TO STAY THEN IT DOESN'T GIVE THE REMAINING GUYS OR THE NEW ONES MUCH INCENTIVE TO EARN YOU MORE MONEY AND DEAL MORE CLIENTS DOES IT??
By the way, have you all gone on their website and clicked on to MEET THE TEAM??? Take a look at the regional sales manager for Bansko and the one for Almeria. Would you trust anyone who looks like that with YOUR investment???? I think not. Ciao for now. By the way has anyone noticed that they have removed all their office telephone numbers from their website?? What sort of company does that??

I agree that the earlier comments regarding ex-employees of MRI are far from blameless, however, what the consumer / customer is unaware of is that the way the company is operated is extremely slick and very believable. I worked for MRI in two countries, I don't want to go into too much detail as I have seen first hand what they are capable of and you would think it was something out of a film, genuinely frightening stuff. When I joined the company it appeared to have great credibility. They had recently produced a DVD with the well respected journalist and TV presenter John Stapleton, they had a sky channel and a magazine in the high street newsagents. All this would appear to be very above board. Darragh is also the chairman of Peterborough Football Club (who's money paid for that?) As time progressed I realised that a lot of the information we were told to use as a negotiation tools didn't seem quite right, however, I thought maybe i'm incorrect, they are a big company and will have done their homework. I started to get very uncomfortable as time progressed. They were very much a high pressure, almost timeshare style company, we used solicitors that were on the MRI payroll but customers were led to believe they were independant, promises of mortgages I later found out were not available and selling off plan developments that hadn't got licences agreed. Not only this but MRI didn't have a valid licence to sell property in this country. It was unbelievable and I was perhaps nieve in my judgement. It amazes me. I met Darragh Macanthony in Spain at a group seminar, he came across very arrogant and full of his own self importance putting up large billboards with a picture of his smug face on reading "Your are entering Macanthony Territory". I and many of my colleagues unwittingly duped customer's but MRI did it knowingly, how they continue to trade is beyond me. I, personally would love to stand up and tell all but I also fear them, they are literally like something out of a "Goodfellas" film and that is no exaggeration. It cost my dearly on a financial level, I guess this is my pennance. If this information, stops one person making a huge mistake then I will sleep better over my involvment. I'm sure Mr Macanthony will eventually have to face what he has done and no amount of money, threats and fancy lawyers will help, this I can only hope.

MacAnthony Realty is a house of thieves. I unfortunately worked with the Florida office for a brief period, until I figured out the scam. The company policies relating to profits and customers are nothing short of criminal fraud. A full investigation is long overdue. The ring leaders Darragh MacAnthony & new CEO Dominic Pickering belong in jail for the evil they have done. My only advice is run, don't walk from these guys. Everything you have suspected, nasty rumors on various blogs and reports from news papers are way too kind. The only guidance I can offer is; spare no cost seeking independent legal advice and counsil of a competent attorney If you have been one of the 1000's victims, don't be too hard on yourself. These guys ran a very slick money harvesting machine which spared very few. I ask myself, How is it possible they are still in business? When will the endless string of victims end? When will justice be served? The true story would make for a great documentary on POWER - MONEY & GREED!

For legal reasons I hereby state that the following information is made up and is a fairytale: Cat, Essentially what you are saying is that you lead numerous people up the garden path, ripped them off and destroyed their financial wellbeing. you also say that you got ripped off by not being paid you're commission... I have known a lot of MRI's reps and they mostly say that exact same thing. I find it amazing how they can complain about being ripped off when they do worse to others for a living and brag about it an MRI rep said a quote to me once and I will type it as accurately as I can remember it: "so i said to these people; oh yes there will be an airport here and a golf course there, I'd just arrived here and was just making it all up hahaha. I wasn't even sure I was in the right place. hahaha" wham bang another few decades of hard working people's money down the drain. I used to hang around with those reps thinking well everybody has got to make a living, some of them have kids etc, etc,... but essentially its not making money to feed your family, its stealing it. my solid productive criticism to you is don't do to others what you wouldn't want done to you.
