Mach Speed - Mach Speed Technologies rebate ripoff Does Not Pay Out Rebates They Are A Scam Ada Oklahoma
On January 19, 2006, I purchased a 128 MB SD card at buy.com that was supposed to be "free after manufacturer's rebate". There were two rebates, a $20 rebate and a $10 bonus rebate.
After I received the product, I began filling out the rebate forms, however, it wasn't clear to me what I had to enter as serial number.
I therefore called Mach Speed's customer service line. I was told the serial number is laser-edged on the back of the SD card. I read the number on the back to the customer service representative, and was told "yes, that must be it".
Since the representative did not sound entirely sure, I made a copy of the back of the card and of the packaging that shows all numbers visible, including the one that I had read over the phone. I enclosed that copy with the other materials and mailed it.
After waiting several months, on May 1, 2006, I was finally allowed to file an electronic "ticket" to inquire about my rebate. On May 2, I was told I had entered an invalid serial number and my rebate application was therefore declined.
I allege that Mach Speed intentionally misleads customers as to what constitutes the serial number so the company can decline the rebate applications. I futhermore claim that Mach Speed intentionally processes rebates very slowly and only allows inquiries after three months to give the customers less of an opportunity to argue their cases, because according to rebate rules, the customers lose all their rights after 120 days.
Do not buy from Mach Speed and expect a rebate. They will do everything they can to avoid paying you.
