Magazine Special Today - Circulation Director, Karen Phillips - Your Magazine Company We received a letter confirming our payment and notification of monthly charges to be placed on our card in the amount of $14.95. We did not ask for their magazines. We were not even home on the day they said they confirmed all of this on the phone. Wilmington Delaware
On 09/11/08, we received a letter in the mail from Magazine Special Today with a free gas opportunity from FreeBeeGas.com for $50. Magazine Special Today stated that they would be sending out our 7 magazines shortly. (I never heard of 6 of the magazines. We don't read magazines and have no desire to subscribe to them.) They said they had successfully charged our card for the first month and would continue to charge our card every month on the same day in the amount of $14.95. My husband called Magazine Special Today and they said that he gave them the okay to charge his card and ordered these magazines on 09/01/08 from our home phone, which they confirmed with him. We were out of town that week! No one was around to even answer the phone. How could they get that approval? How did they get our charge card numbers? However they did it must have been suspicious to my credit card company because on 09/05/08 they froze my account due to unusual activity. When I called to find out the problem, they quoted a different company name, but the same exact $ amount that this company says we gave them permission to charge.
