Magellan GPS, Mitac Corporation SCAM- they will BS you to get payment to hrelp you get your "free" map update Nationwide
Magellan was a very reputable company for almost 20 years for me... HOWEVER now, when you try to get your free map update, they put you in a phone link to have someone call you back... These supposed Technicians take over your computer "pretending to install the necessary software to install the update3, but a bunch of red lines of machine language comes up and they tell you that there is a problem with your operating system ( mine is Windows 7)...
They then tell you that there wiu8ll be a 1 time charge of $99 to clean out your operating system... I am an A+ Certified Computer Technician,(That's my business) I keep my Windows up to date and clean as a whistle on almost a daily basis, and I could tell right away what a SCAM they were running... STAT AWAY from them, just Google "Comkplaints and Reviews for Magellan GPS and you will see "Multiple upon Multip-le time that this company is nothing but a scam... Long time users and New users... besides Google search... you can go to Ripoffreports.com. and see this for yourself. I will NEVER use a Magellan product again in my life, and Highly suggest that you heed my advice
