During our stay in Panama City for the Thanksgiving holiday, we were walking down Uruguay street a gentelman called Migel approched us and offer us free lunch and city tour for a couple of minutes, typical timeshare.... my husband and I have never owned timeshare and the restauant seemed niced enoughed that we agreed to sit down.
then a guy called Tim Lester gave us the talked of how Manrey Private Residence Club was a new group of inverstors in Panama coming from Costa Rica, the Coco Bay Resort, and they had very good prices for vacations better prices that you could find online.
At the end we decided to buy under the condition they give us a tour to southamerica for an amizing price...
we came back to the hotel and found out that MAnrey PRC was the same as Las Palmas VC and there are several scam reports on the Ripoff Report... so be Aware,
since this is thanksgiving weekend, we couldnt get online access to their website http://www.manreyprc.com/home/, but Tim Lester mentioned that they were part of a company that was on business since 1993 but when we asked for the name of that company h told us Dynamic Concepts Inc, this company is not related to Las Palmans VC or MAnrey since they are a sofware developer... so I have received red flags all over the place...
The contract they gave us says we have 3 calendar days to cancel the purchase, which end tomorrow but the website says:
ALERT: In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, our office will be closed on Thursday and Friday November 28th and November 29th. We will reopen Monday, December 2nd , 2013. We look forward to helping you plan your next dream vacation on Monday! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
So we cant even be sure if there is a real company behind the website...
they just created this website on November 20th 2013 with hosting for 1 year, I checked online on Godaddy.com
and there was a very similar complain on the Las Palmas VC, and you can see the similarity of the two websites http://www.laspalmastravelnetwork.com/home/
but when we asked Tim Lester he told us Las Palmas was only their accounting name, and that was why the transaction was on their name.
all and all, I think we made a bug mistake giving their money, they seem pretty good at their sell pitch but oviously they have not figured out how to clean their traces.. a company that open different websites and changes their name, is not reliable.. so we are waiting to get back home to claim a dispute.
