January 12th I purchased a vehicle from Maxwell Ford in Austin, Tx from a salesman named Mark G. Due to the high insurance quotes for the car I was purchasing I decided to cancel the sale (after being in the dealership for 6 hours). Mark G quickly called in Mark Strauss claiming he could find me a lower quote than the leading companies.  Less than 10 minutes after the call being made Mark shows up. Hands me a card and immidietly opens his laptop and begins pullin up quotes from his database. So Mark gives me a price for $111 for a new policy with Gainsco. Didn't seem like a bad deal-given that is $20 lower than what the other 5 insurance quotes I recieved while in the dealership. I felt a little uneasy with how Mark Strauss kept assuring me this was the best deal I could find (after he asked for my bank card) I figured the $250 would pay itself after a year of "lowest rate I can get".... Mark Strauss charged me $250 for his fee's then charges me another $142 for insurance fee's. I didn't think more into it until my acoount was drafted for $174 instead of the $111 I was quoted by Mark Strauss. I then began to see how I was scammed. I call into his office and speak to Maria Munoz who is his (very unproffesional and straight up rude) receptionist. She gives me a completely nonsense reason as to why I was charged so much. I ask her to have Mark contact me and she claims to leave him a message. I call and email everyday for 3 weeks to reach him and she continues to claim he is out of the office and will "leave him a message."

Shame on him and shame on Maxwell Ford for allowing this crook to rip off a poor single mom.

Mark Strauss is a fast talking, scamming THIEF. PLEASE DO NOT let him rip you off.

Never did I yell or curse at any point of my contacting you. I can see how you stating that might give you leverage in your defense against your connections with this scam. I'm only stating facts here. I have made many attempts to have you correct or refund my money but instead you only ignored or deflected. Professionalism is the last experience I've received from either one of you. I have yet to see a resolution or even receive a call after spending months seeking a fair business transaction. The terms in my agreement were not met  so please tell me  how this  is professional?  I work hard to make my income honestly I don't scam innocent people by driving around to dealerships like a wolf in sheeps clothing convincing buyers to pay for a false promise. I only wished I would have researched Mark Strauss before giving him  $250 for absolutely nothing he agreed to do.  I would have seen the exact same scenario of what he did to me all over the internet. That's what websites like this are for. To protect consumers from situations like, unfortunately, was victimized by.

I received email notification concerning this post.  I, the assistant named in the post am responding only because it is inaccurate.  I treat each customer with professional courtesy.  That being said, after constant calls of someone screaming at me, and cursing at me I, like any other person will get fed up.  The insurance is not a scam, just like you said.  Mr.Strauss came to you and bound you a insurance policy.  He drove to your location, using his time and resources to get you a policy you were happy paying.  This is a service he provided.

Like all services there are fee's included.  You don't work for free, why should you expect anyone else to?  The fee's are clearly explained to each and every customer.  As I'm sure you recall you signed the agency disclosure form that we keep copies of.  That document is there exactly for this reason, it tells you what is paid towards your 1st month's premium and what the agency fees are.  I am sorry you had a bad experiance, in your eyes.  However, you alone singed and chose to take the policy.  If you felt it wasn’t a right fit you should've opted out.
