Complaint Review: Matt of City Auto Wreckers - aurora Illinois

invoice # 116555 order # 199672/1 date 10-5-12 time 10:59am Invoice says i paid by check, but i paid by credit card. and in another area it says cash. As for the part description, they have 2000 chevrolet 10 pickup misc. My car is a 1999 ford contour Matt-labor Gene-salesperson i had went to Merlins auto on Sept26th to have my car looked at, it was running rough...they told me it was cylinder #4, that it was only running at 90psi when it should run at 160psi.

expensive problem, so i called my brother for advice....he told me to have his buddy look at it the owner of city auto wreckers Matt Niumier (not sure of spelling on last name)my brother called Matt and i was told to go there the next day 27th of oct. to have Matt look at it. i went there he looked at it, and said yes my cylinder is running at 90psi, but that's not your problem, your problem is the fuel pump, it's only running at 30lb pressure, and should be at 50-60lbs pressure, he told me i had to get it fixed now, not to wait because i could go out to my car and it may not start.

OK, i don't want to be stranded, i was very nervous driving after that. While i was there and he told me it was the fuel pump, he said he would call my brother and set up a day and time for me to bring it in and Matt would replace it. That day came to be oct.5th 2012.got there around 10am, he told me to leave the keys in the car, and he would try to do it fast as he could, i told him not to worry on the time. when he was done he came to the main building where i was waiting to tell me that the 1st pump he put in was 30lbs pressure, so he had to try another, and he mumbled (which i figured out later that evening)this one is 30lb pressure, BUT YOU WON'T GET STRANDED, AND THE REAL PROBLEM IS YOUR CYLINDER.

I started to try and ask him about the pump, and he cut me off and said he had alot on his plate that day, meaning the conversation was over, i asked him how much he said 125.00..ok, i paid via credit card. as i was driving home i kept going over his mumbling and then how his voice got louder after that saying "i won't break down' "and yes, the cylinder is what is making it drive rough". then i realized he said the pump was at 30, the exact same # my fuel pump was running at, so in all nothing was fixed, i paid 125.00 for the same exact problem i had to begin with.

I wa mad, i live on a fixed income, 125.00 is alot of money to me. I figured i would call my brother Sat. and tell him the situation since Matt had some sort of a problem talking to me on the phone. I called my brother at about 3:30pm sat, and had to leavemess.i told him i need to talk to you about what was done to my car. he didn't call back. I called him sun at 10:34am no answer, left another mesage saying Matt put the same darn problem in my car, he did fix it, call me back. never called.

This morning i call Matt at his shop, no answer left him a message on how he did not fix my car, and to call me back ASAP. matt then called my brother telling him he was afraid to talk to me that was at8:37am, well i wanted to get Matts last name so i called the business # 8:43am, they wouldn't give me his last name, i called again trying to get someone else 9:06am, and Gene the man that took the call told me to stop harassing them. so i tried calling Matt again at 9:07am, had to leave mess.

then like clockwork my brother calls screaming at me to just leave i alone, and matt is afraid to talk to you, i said yea, because he ripped me off. and this is my complaint, matt told me i needed a new fuel pump ASAP because mine was runiing at only 30lb pressure, and needs to be at 60-50 pressure...believed him, being he's my brothers friend, had him fix it, only thing is he put in a fuel pump that read the same pressure per lbs as my original one.....nothing was fixed. and then i find out he's not a certified machanic and he deosn't really work on cars...he's a junk yard. And he found that the fuel pump for my car should read 30ls pressure, which mine was, but he still replaced it and took my money. He easily could have told me i have to go to auto repair place, i had just had my vavle cover gaset fixed at one.
