Mattress Firm, Houston, TX Mattress Firm Refused to resond to complaint with the BBB for refusal to refund money on mattress return Houston Texas
Mattress Firm Houston, Texas. Kept my money on a mattress return and refused to provide me with a reason why. I called, emailed and filed a complaint with the BBB that they did not bother to respond to. I purchased a mattress and the first delivery was free. I exchanged it and paid the delivery fee. It came defective and looked used. This process continued with two other mattresses. The mattresses never smelled new until the last one was delivered, and it was defective as well. These mattressed had to have come from their clearance store or some typoe of return because it was obvious they were not new. After many conversations with the sales rep, who each time persuaded me to accept a replacement mattress, I finally told them I was not willing to accept any more of their merchandise, to pick up the mattress and refund my money. I was shorted the amount of their $40.00 "processing fee" and charged a delivery charge on the first mattress I am guessing, even though delivery was free to get me to buy it. I even had an invoice showing I paid the processing fee up front and there was no delivery charge. This company has shoddy business practices, refused to respond to my written communications asking for justification as to why I was shorted over $100 in refund due and, finally, the defective mattresses are not what you would receive from a reputable retailer. Too many times to be a coincidence. You have to ask yourself where the mattresses that are returned to when they are so liberal on their return policy. The "Happiness Guarantee" is a lie and their refusal to respond to my complaint with the Better Business Bureau and to me proves it.
