Maytag Corporation is #3 in the World for customer satisfaction. Preceded only by H.J. Heinz (Ketchup company) and Mercededs Benz.Its a very common mistake for people to give incorrect serial #'s. If the units serial # is off by one digit or letter Maytag customer svc. CANNOT find ANY information in regards to your appliance. It's not a matter of them not wanting to provide you w/ service for your cooktop or them just trying to get you off the phone, its simply the FACT that you did not provide them with the necessary information for them to be able to help you. ALL appliances and/or machines that are made by man are not flawless. PARTS FAIL. On average people spend what 22-35000 dollars on a vehicle and can very easily spend 100,000 dollars and STILL HAVE TO PUT IT IN THE REPAIR SHOP. So why wouldn't you expect to need service on a 500 dollar appliance? The Jennair cooktops COME WITH a better warranty than ANY other brand, so get together ALL of the proper information for your cooktop RE;Model # serial # and date of purchase and I'm positive that Maytag customer service will make good on their warranty.;
