Medical Prep Institute of Tampa Bay Won't pay their employees Tampa Florida
I worked at MPI for a couple of weeks in September, 2017. As of today (February 15, 2019) I still have not been paid. Supposedly their million dollars in funding was withheld because their ABHES review went poorly and their accredidation was pulled in 2018. After much communication with the owner Fazdiso Jena, I was told that a check would be sent to me on January 11, 2019.
I finally received a check on February 4, 2019 only to be told by the bank that the check was no good. When I contacted the school they told me they had to close the account due to fraud and a new check would be issued "next week". Now I am getting more excuses like Ms. Jena was in the hospital, they have to wait for everything to clear before they can open a new account, and on and on.
I jsut want what is owed to me legally but I keep getting more lies. I contacted the Department of Labor and the sheriff's department to seek assistance and am waiting for their response. As of right now, they are NOT accredited by ABHES. I would adivse NOT attending classes or accepting a job here.
