I purchased a Russian Blue kitten from Gloria and Alan at the flea market (my first mistake) on the premise that the Russian Blue cats are hypo-allergenic, which is what Alan told me and what was written on the papers they hang up advertising the cats. Once I got the cat home allergies started to become more and more pronounced. At this point I had spent a lot of money on this cat, not only the purchase price but also getting his shots and treating the ringworm he came to me with, plus I was emotionally attached to him, so I planned on getting allergy shots in hopes of keeping him. But before I could get my first series of shots done I had a profound allergic reaction to the cat and ended up in anaphylactic shock and had to be rushed by ambulance to the ER. I couldn't believe they had sold me this cat as hypo-allergenic and here I had almost died from an alleric reaction to it. And no, I'm not even being the least bit sarcastic.
I had to rehome the cat immediately since I couldn't come home to a cat that I was apparently THAT allergic to. I spoke with Alan and Gloria and Alan was pissed that I had rehomed the cat at 2am rather than giving it back to him. I later ended up buying a hairless cat (sphynx) from them, which I don't have allergic reactions to (I already had an adult sphynx and have never had reactions to her except when she scratches me). I really shouldn't have done business with them again considering they had sold me a "hypo-allergenic" cat that caused me to have such a severe allergic reaction that I had to go to the ER, not to mention a cat that had ringworm. But I was foolish and got this other cat. Turns out this one also has ringworm. When I went back to the store I noticed most of his puppies had patches of missing fur that was consistent with ringworm. When I mentioned this they denied that it was ringowrm and said the perfect circles of missing fur on all puppies was from tape when they tap ears. Yeah right. So now I've spent thousands on the first cat and the second cat including constant lyme dips and medication to get rid of the ringworm. Also my cats came to me with internal parasites and fleas. My vet rolled his eyes when I told him who I got these animals from. I wish I had read ripoff report and had avoided Alan and Gloria. They refused to help me and told me to get out of there flea market booth when I went there to talk about this. Alan is a foul-mouthed, ignorant drunk and a scam artist. I am so glad the county is shutting down their operation in the flea market. These are NOT reputable, ethical breeders. My pets were parasite-ridden and filthy. I wish I hadn't been so trusting.
