Do not fall pray to the same people as I did. This Micalan Group is a joke and a well hidden pyramid scam.

I had lost my job due to downsizing. I was actively looking for another career in warehousing as that is were I have all my experience and work certifications. I had posted my resume online and within a week I get a call from the Micalan Group. I figured it was a paying job and it would last until I find what I was really looking for. I was wrong, DEAD wrong.

I went on my first interview which was fine and like any other. Then the second interview I went with one of the sales rep to "see how" the job was done. We ended up traveling over a hour to this business only to watch the sales rep struggle to make a sale which he did. We went to a few other doors and then left to travel back to the office.

My first day was the same thing, we traveled not that far from the office but still across the river to New Albany and once again watched as the Sale Rep struggled to make a sale. Then on the third day we traveled even further, over 2 hours away in my own car and with my own gas to Richmond Ky, only to be meant with rejection. The only sell the guy made was from a friend of his.

I was then sent out on my own in my own territory and on my own dime and once again on my own gas. This company, if you can call it that, does not reimburse you for gas or mileage. I even went on a business trip to Bowling Green Ky, only to share a 2-bed hotel room with 3 other guys, and one of the them didn't even bathe the entire time we where there! It was disgusting.

I was selling office supplies to businesses and Professional offices, office supplies that was from a catalog and warehouse based company Quill. I have hardly any bad experience with Quill it is a great company but the Micalan Group, the people who are in charged of soliciting the company to other businesses is just a scam. You will hear it all day long "we're not soliciting, we're saving these companies money" but you are. You have an invested interested in selling these products, you will be a solicitor.

Getting people in these Professional businesses to buy office products is not only unnecessary but in some cases unethical. You try to build up their impulses to buy goods they do not need or rarely even use.

The turn-over rate is outstanding I have never seen so many people show up one day and are gone the next, every morning I leave I see new bright faces setting in the lobby waiting for their interview. I should have told them want their getting themselves into.

Whatever you do, do not accept this job. It will only make a giant hole in your pocket and waste your time and gas. They will butter you up in the morning, make you feel good about yourself and expect you to return with your hard work so they can line their own pockets with your money that you work hard to get.

I ran into a Office Depot rep once when I was leaving a business I just pitched. I got talking to him about the job and he being an older gentleman let me know the real truth to the story. No one wants to be interrupted during their day to be bothered with an office supply solicitor and they certainly do not want to spend money on supplies they can get from a retail store for the same price or even less. We sell paper for 29.90 a case and Office Max has it on sell for 14.99!

I really find it sad when someone fails to succeed at something, then they blame it on everything but themselves.

I worked for The Micalan Group for 3 months. Because of family issues I was unable to continue on. If not for that reason I would still be there.

You forgot to mention, in your bashing of hardworking people, that you were shown exactly what was expected of someone hired. You did an all day shadow with an account rep. After the all day shadowing you, like I, were asked point blank if you thought you could hadle the position. You must have said yes.  I watched your training and know that the things you said are untrue.

I also know that you were given the option of base plus commission, or pure commission. I do not know what you chose, but everone has that option.

I would like to ask you that if a person is given a base, or the option of it, how could it be a Pyramid scheme????????  I know that no one, but me, made any money from the sales I made.

As for being shady.....I pesonally saw them fire two people while I was there. One for unprofessional behavior and one for misleading a merchant

.B2B can be very trying......especially if you do not try! It is not for everyone, but for those it is.....it is a good way to make a living.

I put your name on here Richard, because I think it very cowardly to bash a good name without putting your name on it!!!
