Micro Village Ltd./Go-Microvillage CHEAP PHONES NOT CHEAP AT ALL! BRAND NEW IPHONE/BLACKBERRY RIP OFF ARTISTS Hemel Hempstead Other
As advertised online in Facebook Marketplace (under the name of Zuck Freeman) and their supposed website, they offer great deals on the newest mobile phones (IPhone, Blackberry, etc) for less than $200 USD plus $30 USD for shipping via FedEx.
Contact seller via Yahoo email / messenger where they request that payment be made via Western Union money transfer which can be done online using secure credit card or in person at Western Union location.
Payment made and then less than 24 hrs later received notice saying a further $165 USD required to cover Duty, Tax, & Clearance through FedEx before it can be sent; or offer of a second phone to be sent for $200 USD which will cover the alleged extra shipping costs from FedEx.
Refund requested for initial payment (as it states in their website of a limited money back/item exchange policy of 30 days) and was told that it would be processed on Monday (today being Saturday) excuse given that the Western Union offices close early on the weekend in the UK. Simple check proved that all offices in their advertised location are open until at least 8-10pm local time.
Last communication made/received at 7:43am Eastern time (12:43pm UK time) on Saturday 7 March 2009. Message sent on Facebook mail account at 8:47am Eastern time (1:47pm UK time) stating that they had until 5:00pm their time to reply with refund information or report would be submitted to local authorities for fraud, etc...
Will update if and when response received. As payment was made on Visa, a fraud charge will be placed with Visa to recover funds...not yet posted on account due to weekend.
