Milford Spice Company Took my pre paid order and failed to deliver product advertised for 6 months, then substituted out lessor value products when threatened to report fraud Milford , Michigan
I placed a $45.00 order through Groupon March 24, 2012. I received nothing except occasional
inappropriate lengthy emails from the company owner, Laura, explaining how she got 5000 orders when she only expected 1000 and couldn't fill the product. She pleaded to allow her time.
Twice, I received a notice my order "was in processing." I inquired as to why it was never received. I received an email reply saying she was too busy to answer her emails or phone messages.
Finally, after discovering that this lady has a history of fraud, I called and left a message that I have concluded that she "floated" her company on the paid order funds she received from Groupon six months previously.
I informed her that this was a very clever scheme to obtain cash in the range of $50,000-$125,000 based on the stated order number of "over 5000" orders and the options from Groupon, calculating the rate at the standard 50/50 split Groupon offers. I told her that I saw her mug shot on the Michigan criminal records that the state publishes, and that I was going to file a complaint about her present tactics with the state's Attorney General.
The next day, I received an email saying that my "order has shipping."
I received the order. Milford Spice substituted out my order to include cheaper products, lessor products, and completely ignored a sampler set of 6 spices which was no longer on her web pages.
i contacted this hustler by email and demanded a return label to return her unopened individual products because the order substitution was unacceptable.
Laura then explained she was sending me further spices.
Today, every link to her web site showed a 404 error. Don't know if it's her web that's the problem or at my end. But I actually hope her "web only business has gone defunct.
Stay away from this bogus con artist.
And her merchandise is overpriced and not of good quality in my opinion.
