I found a coupon for a check engine light diagnoses (129.95 value now free) on their website so I took my truck to them 12/17/2015. When I arrived about 8:00am, the service advisor told me the coupon is just to pull the code from the computer (30 seconds). We debated for a few minutes because that’s not what the coupon says and I don't need to know the code, I already know it (truck has a built in code reader). I need them to figure out what's causing it and give me a price to fix it. So I ask what it costs to find what's causing it and he points to the coupon and says it’s the $130 that's crossed out. After a few more minutes debating the verbiage of the coupon, I leave the truck hoping he's mistaken as to what the coupon is for and the technician will figure it out. After having it all day the advisor calls me at 4:20pm and tells me the code number and 3 different things the book of codes say could be causing it (which again I already know) but it will be $130 to figure it out for sure and they have to keep the truck another day because they won’t start on it until morning. So I tell him go ahead and figure it out. About 5:00pm the same day I show up at the facility and tell him I changed my mind I just want my truck back. He says the technician went home and the wheel is off so you can’t have it until tomorrow. The next day 12/18/2015 I called and left a message for the service manager Fred Benoit at 7:30am to call me back and of course he never has. I also called numerous service advisors at different Moss Bros. locations that take the same coupon to ask about the coupon verbiage and they all told me it’s only to pull the code (again despite what the coupon says). So I ask them all how much to pull the code without the coupon and they all said a code pull is always free it’s the diagnoses of the cause that's $130 but the coupon isn't for that despite the verbiage of the coupon. So now, how is the coupon a $130 value if a code pull is always free and why doesn't the coupon say it’s only to pull the code?

Well, the dealer contacted me and diagnosed and repaired my vehicle. Dont know how many other people were taken advantage of through this coupon deception but they made it right with me.

You don't need this crap!  The deception of the sales floor has now spread like maggots to the shop floor in many dealers in the Sleazy American Car Business!  Again, YOU DON'T NEED THIS and YOU DON'T NEED THEM!  Going to the service department at many dealerships is an open invitation to them to price gouge you for inferior service as well as a direct invitation to them to lie to you and treat you like garbage.  Look around, ask around and find a good independent mechanic in your area.  I don't mean Walmart, a tire shop or somebody who does work in the back yard.  An independent mechanic has his own shop, has people with years of experience and will treat you much better with a higher level of customer service/care without price gouging you.  Don't ever, ever, ever go to a dealership for non-warranty service again. You have first hand knowledge and experience as to how the deception and con-games have spread to the shop like stench from an open sewer.
