I contacted Motortime after seeing there engines on eBay. After speaking with them I decided to have them replace the blown 22re engine in my 91' Toyota pickup. They had somebody pick the truck up and tow it to there shop in San Mateo, Ca. While at the shop they (allegedly) replaced the engine, clutch and spark plug wires. When they were finished they delivered the truck and everything seemed fine until they asked for the payment in cash.

I insisted on paying with a check but they refused and said it must be cash and that they did not take checks. It appeared to be strange that a business would not take a check or other forms of payment. The person that dropped off the truck reassured me that they were a legit business and he told me that he would email the receipt that included a three year warranty since they installed the engine.

A year later I noticed that the rear main was leaking oil. I had my neighbor whom is a mechanic look at it and he confirmed it was leaking from the rear main. I called Motortime a couple of times and did not get a response. About six month later, the engine developed a bad exhaust leak. Six month after that the engine started to overheat and blow white smoke out of the exhaust. I took it to the local shop and they told me that I have a blown head gasket. I told them about the engine from Motortime and they recommended I look up RipoffReport.com. They said that I was scammed and that Motortime has a bad reputation for supplying "crappy" engines.

I have called them many times but have not been able to reach anybody. I noticed that eBay closed there account a while ago. It appears that they are now doing business as "We Have Engines" and are again scamming people on Craigslist and eBay.
