I contacted Atlas Print Group via the internet in February 2012 and obtained a quotation to print my glossy A4 Magazines. The quote was competitive but in line with current market prices. I had to pay the total upfront, which is not dissimmilar to other print companies.
To date (June 2012), I have not had delivery of the magazines. The phones are now unmanned and it is evident that my work has been outsourced to a factory in Lithuania.
I have received two letters from this factory, delivered via email, explaining that they are having problems with their factory and can I "please be patient". The person whom I made the point of sale with rarely responds to my emails. When he does, it is simply to say that the matter is being dealt with by his "European Office" (i.e. the Lithuanian factory).
My magazines have time sensitive advertisements and competitions, which will run out 30th June. I ran a real risk of being sued by the advertisers, so in the meantime, I have borne the additional cost of getting my magazines printed elsewhere. I doubt I will get my money back (2,000).
I have since had an investigation into the company, and this is what I have managed to find out. They say on the web site they are Ambeck Corporation Limited trading as Atlas Print Group registration number 07718098. Their claim that their registered company address is: 3rd Floor 14 Hanover Street, Hanover Square, London, W1S 1YH, United Kingdom, with a contact number of: 0207 3553800
We we rang them to ask about Atlas Print Group, they said they had never heard of them. There are no financials available for them so we cant be clear how long they have been trading. However, the two directors for the company are called Mr Michael Clifford and Mr Neill Stuart Malcolm John. My point of sales was with Neill John.
Michael Clifford is Director at Africa Business Solution Limited and he currently has 1217 active directorships (yes, that's right) and 274 directorships of companies which have ceased trading. Neill Stuart Malcolm John has 2 active directorships and 8 directorships of companies which have now ceased trading.
