Chris Mihalic has taken insurance monies from numerous homeowners in NJ and has not performed any substantial work.  The work that has been performed has created more damage to homeowner properties. Chris is bouncing checks and not paying his sub contractors or his vendors. If you are a victim of Chris Mihalic please contact the NICB, the Attorney General's Office and your State department of consumer fraud who are all currently conducting an investigation.

We were a subcontractor for Chris Mihalic's company and are owed over $25,000. He has closed the doors for the New Jersey location on Delilah Road in Pleasantville, NJ and is now moving on to scam Indiana residents. I called the landlord for the Pleasantville location and asked for the status of his previous tenant, he just laughed when I told him we were owed money and said "you're not the only one"!! He gave me Chris' forwarding address for Rand Park St in Garner, NC. So beware, Garner, NC and New Albany, IN, Chris Mihalic is in town looking to rip you off...

WE WERE SUBCONTRACTOR, STILL OWED TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS

#4UPDATE EX-employee responds

We met Chris Mihalic of M&S Contracting (aka Mihalic & Sons Construction) in Atlantic City, NJ in
November after Hurricane Sandy. He needed labor for tear-outs and roofing jobs his salesmen had
already signed. We had brought labor crews out to work for a different company but they weren't staying busy so we agreed to do work for Chris and payments would be received as Insurance checks came in.

We cleaned out water-damaged items from many residences for Mihalic's company and have only
received $2000 to date.

I have called for payment (which he has already received from homeowners' insurance company),
he answered my call on Friday, February 16th, told me he was going over our payment and for me to call him back in 1 hour, I asked if he would answer his phone, he gave me his word he would answer. I have been calling ever since to no avail. I have contacted his offices in Garner, NC and Pleasantville, NJ only to have the assistant take a message but no call back.

I am not alone in this, his office and salesmen don't get paid after a while so there is a turn-over every month or so. He has been prohibited from doing business in Indiana due to fraud there but he still has an office, it's just in someone else's name. When I searched his name, there was a Craigslist posting from a homeowner in NC warning others not to do business with him due to the fact that he does not pay subcontractors and then the homeowner gets a lien put on their property.

I have been told by an ex-employee that he is having customers affected by Storm Sandy sign over their insurance checks to him directly because he states it will make the process go faster and smoother. I have also been told that he is bouncing company checks and spending thousands of dollars at the casino. She was a first-hand witness to this. I have been in contact with a reporter in North Carolina (where his permanent home address is) and he has told me that they have been contacted more than once regarding Chris Mihalics shady dealings. They have even run news reports on him exposing his lacking business ethics. This is probably the reason he is in New Jersey now.

When we left New Jersey due to the fact that funds were low because we werent getting paid, our labor stayed on and worked another week directly for Chris. When they went to the
Pleasantville office to get paid, Chris called the police saying they were trying to steal his computer equipment. All lies! When the crew explained they were only there to get paid, the officers told Chris to just pay them and it would be over. He said they only worked a couple of hours and he had no intention of paying them.

I have been told that Chris has made over $700,000 from Hurricane Sandy, because of not paying employees and subcontractors, and plans to retire soon.

We need this fraud to be exposed. Hard-working people are being taken advantage of and homeowners are going to be held responsible for owner pocketing the money because subcontractors are going to be
putting liens against their properties.

We are left with no money to pay our workers, we have paid workers out of our own pockets but still owe and now we are facing our family being put on the streets because of this owner's greed.
