Dear Matt, Orbitz was sorry to see your online comments about our company and its association with Memberworks. We value all our customers and would prefer to speak with you in person about this, but unfortunately do not have your contact information and had to post a reply. Orbitz partnered with MemberWorks' Connections program to offer its customers increased savings opportunities at America's most popular retailers and restaurants. By joining, consumers get a $10 cash back offer and 20% savings on gift cards/certificates for Blockbuster, Toys R Us, Barnes and Noble, The Olive Garden, Red Lobster and many other famous American retailers. MemberWorks follows National Best Marketing Practices that go far beyond its competitors in pro-consumer protections and the company maintains a "no questions asked" refund policy. To ensure Orbitz' customers are aware they are signing up for a paid membership, they must enter their email address twice and click yes to completely enroll in the Connections program. Each step of the sign-up process includes disclosures about the program and how much and when the customer will be billed. If you contact us, we'll be able to provide you a link to the page which was displayed to you at the tme you made the purchase. All new Connections members receive a welcome email that includes their new benefits and login information for the member website, as well as a number to call if they wish to cancel their membership. Cancellations can also be done on the member web site. At the end of the free 30-day trial period, every member receives another email reminder that they are about to be billed for the first month of membership. This email also contains the phone number, email address and website that the member can contact to cancel membership before the first billing. You commented that you saw a large number of complaints online about MemberWorks. In fact, Orbitz has received very few complaints about MemberWorks. And, like any large, publicly traded company you might "Google," there are complaints to be found online; however, most of what is posted about MemberWorks is old, out-dated and regarding past issues that have been resolved. There is consumer demand for these types of membership programs and Orbitz' partnership with MemberWorks is not unique -- many other leading e-retailers offer similar membership programs for their customers. We would like the opportunity to discuss your situation in person and appreciate you providing us with an email address. Again, we are sorry to hear of your disappointment and hope you will consider working with us in the future. Regards, Orbitz Customer Relations
