Nathan Fernandez I found his ads selling an iPhone 3GS 32GB for just $400. He told me to make the payment via Western Union first, then he'd send me the iPhone.. but he never did ! I lost $400 + $36 (transfer fee) Montauk, New York
I found this guy's ads on craiglist selling an iPhone 3GS for just $400. He told me to make the payment via Western Union (WU) first, then he'd send me the iPhone.
The thing is due to the bad English of this WU Mexican personnel that I talked to before making the payment, I misunderstood that a WU recipient usually is NOT allowed to pick up the money transferred without the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) given from the sender.
I actually intended to wait for the iPhone delivered from this guy before giving to him the MTCN. However, he picked up the money right 15' after the transfer was made, and I never received anything from him later than. He never picked up my calls also.

If someone says send cash via WU, my suggestion would be to RUN quickly. Craigslist and WU equal Rip-Off. Both places on their own can be quite useful, but this was a scam from the get-go. I'm very sorry you lost that much money.
