National Association For The Self Employed scam/ripoff Everywhere Georgia
I started with this company thinking that I was fixing to begin selling health insurance as a honest job. I went through some basic training on how to go about this, because you would basically be on your own working from your home. They get you all pumped up of course and tell you that they will give you leads that are from your area. They show you where to call and where to go to buy LOTS of signs that you have to put in the ground everywhere to drum up business. Well, everything started off ok, but here's the catch---you are selling Mega Life and Health Insurance, which I guess is ok.
BUT---the gimmick is that you also have to sell this package of bull. You try to convince everyone that is interested in insurance to purchase this $45 a month packet that includes grocery coupons (they tell everyone is free and NOOOOOO it's not), discounts to hotels everywhere (and no hotel would let anyone use it, from experience), etc. As I started to figure out that the book was a rip off I quit selling it and sold health insurance only........ they didn't like it at all. They told me that if I didn't sell the NASE booklet with my insurance I wouldn't have my job anymore--KEEP IN MIND I AM SELF EMPLOYED!!!!! The way they pay you is everytime you turn in a application for health insurance they give you a large cut of the money. For instance if you turned in a application and it is worth $200/mo., they would give you about $550.00 (may not be exact). Sounds good huh........until that customer decides they didn't want the insurance because it is a scam, then they (NASE) want their money back. And they try to go for the younger population of people because they don't know any better.
Well, basically they let me go and started harassing me about wanting money back because when I left my customers left, and they had collections after me, sent UGLY letters to me all the time. Until I got bold and decided that they were going to do this to me and I wrote them a very UGLY letter back to them letting them know that I wouldn't stop with just a letter to them if they didn't leave me alone. Needless to say I haven't heard anything else from them. This has been a few years since I was involved but I have been seeing signs going up in my area ALOT, and I just feel for the poor sucker that has once again fallen for it.

Marketing Tactics illegal in Georgia and almost every other state to place advertising signs on the right-of-way.

NASE and MegaLife are fully aware that it is illegal in Georgia and almost every other state to place advertising signs on the right-of-way. I have called them and their agents many times yet they apparently continue to encourage their agents to do so. Most communities in Georgia will levy a $200 fine for each sign. Fortunately, in many communities people simply rip the signs down as soon as they are placed.
