I purchase a Groupon (attached) for 1 months free credit repair from National Credit Masters. For 9 days I have tried to reach this company and have not been able to get them. When I call the number it says to press one for English or two for Spanish, as soon as I hit 1 - they hang up on you and you cannot even leave a message!
In short I am out my $99 and cannot receive the service I paid for. I have since gone to the company's website and found that the Groupon product was FALSLY ADVERTISED. The Groupon says that this is a $250 value (see attached) then on the company's website they sate the value of the monthly credit repair to be $99 (see attached). This is FALSE ADVERTSING. When speaking with Groupon, their customer service representative, Julie, indicated that National Credit Masters probably provided falsified information about the cost of their services.
It looks like National Credit Masters has twice dissolved its business in Connecticut (see attached CONCORD printout). Now the secretary of state has no registration on file for this business. A company going out of business twice should have been a red flag that this might be a scam!
This is Advance Fee Credit repair and it is ILLEGAL!
Under the Credit Repair Organization act Title 15 US Code Chapter 41 § 1679c. both Groupon and this company have not provided the proper disclosures prior to selling credit repair services. In fact the Credit Repair Organizations Act Title 15 US Code Chapter 41 § 1679e provides for a right to cancel. No right to cancel was offered by the company or by Groupon. Additionally, under the Credit repair organizations Act Title 15 US Code Chapter 41 § 1679b, consumers can not be charged in advance for credit repair services. I have paid money ($99 for one month's credit repair) and have not received any credit repair service. In my opinion this is a violation of the credit repair organizations act (and the opinion of the two lawyers I consulted with).
Additionally, CT law (Sec. 36a-700) requires that a specific state disclosure be given prior to the collection of credit repair fees. Again, your groupon violates this CT law by not providing the proper disclosures prior to collecting fees for credit repair.

Tammy was never a customer of National Credit Masters. Anyone interested in reading my letter from the BBB.org is welcomed to contact me directly at [email protected] for a copy. There are 2 companies in CT that start with "National Credit" and National Credit Masters has zero complaints with the Better Business Bureau.
