Everybody on here is 100% right about Net Detective being a scam. I foolishly joined this afternoon. They were advertising for license plate searches, and when I joined I realized they don't offer such searches. In fact, the site is useless. I called the customer service number, and I told them they shouldn't be advertising for services they don't provide. The "rep" said I'd get an e-mail explaining the refund process, but I never got one. I also couldn't access the site with the password they gave me once I tried to get on the site again later on in the day.
I'm an attorney in Central Florida, and besides not paying for the charge (I already reported it as internet sales fraud to Discover Card), I'm going to go after these SOBs. I've already filed a complaint with the FL Attorney General's Office. I suggest everybody else who has been victimized do the same. Fraud is fraud, even if you get your money back at the end of the day. The FL Attorney General investigates cyber-fraud and other cyber-crimes. Somebody else on here mentioned calling the State Attorney's Office. That's OK as well, but for crimes that have State-wide effects such as internet fraud, the AG is better. In fact, seeing how citizens of other states have been victimized, those in other states should also see about filing complaints with the FCC and even the FBI. Hey, we're paying taxes for these agencies to help us, so in addition to everybody on here writing posts, you all should file consumer complaints with whomever you can.
CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. Like I said, I'm not just getting my money back and forgetting about this. So if you want to get involved let me know. I'll at least pass your complaints on to the FL Attorney General. Thanks, and if you are reading this and are one of Net Detective's owners, watch out. You just defrauded a relentless lawyer who is never satisfied. You guys could be put in jail for life, and I would want more. I'm coming :)
