This is about Newport News "Fashion Catalog", NOT Newport News of Virginia. NNFC bills come from San Antonio, TX; their credit card correspondence comes from Columbus, OH.

We unknowingly entered into a subscription with NNFC. Possibly it was one of those "fine print" offers which makes it look like there is no fee. But we really aren't sure how it happened.

When we figured out what was going on, we attempted to cancel the subscription. It was nearly impossible. We got the run-around on every phone call; either endless automated phone menus or a representative saying, "I can't help you, you have to call another number." And then the same run-around would occur with the 'other' number. During this time, we received bills for the unpaid subscription including late fees. We continued to attempt to resolve the matter via phone. We then began to receive phone calls from NNFC; many times a day incl Saturday and Sunday.

We finally succeeded in having a phone representative remove the subscription. We thought that was the end of it. But we continue to receive bills for the late fees, which are now over $200.00. HOW CAN THERE BE LATE FEES ON SOMETHING THAT NEWPORT NEWS AGREES SHOULD NOT HAVE EXISTED?!?

We've been calling to resolve the issue, but once again, we get the same run-around. One representative finally said we had to put the request in writing. We did so and received a letter stating that they could not help us because we did not write within a specified time from the original bill. That is true; however, they agreed to remove the subscription after the time period had passed and at no time did any phone representative, until the last one, state that we had to put any request in writing. However, if the request had to be in writing, then why did they agree to remove the subscription based on a phone call??
