My son Eric A.B.  went to Nissan of Mission Hills in April of 2016 to purchase a car after he returned from two tours of duty from the United States Navy.  He was represented by Joe De La Garza and was told he needed a co-signer as his credit was not strong enough.  I went to the dealership and was coerced into putting the entire deal in my name as this would assist my son with a smaller monthly payment and a lower interest rate.  After the car was purchased I realized the overall price of the car was more than twice the car’s worth.   When my son lost his job and became unable to keep up the payments the car was repossessed.  I had purchased gap insurance on the vehicle and the gap payment of $2,667 was applied to the car still leaving a balance owed of $8, 297 which is damaging my credit.  The total payments that were applied were $9,945 and the car is only worth blue book price of $9,025.  The total purchase price of the vehicle was $20,001.00 which is $10, 976 over Kelly Blue Book price.

Nissan overcharged my son a service member trying to get back on his feet after tours to Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East, and by my attempting to assist him after they severely overcharged both of us for this vehicle left my credit in disrepair.  This should never happen to anyone, specifically a Veteran.

Please investigate, thank you.

There is nothing to investigate. Your dissatisfaction with the cost of the car is a case of buyer’s remorse. Merchants are not required to sell their goods and services at or below market value. That includes auto dealers. They are not required to observe Kelley Blue Book pricing.
