Did you verify that the fees for you visit were the same by contacting your insurance company? Perhaps your copay had changed since your last visit? Perhaps the office had mixed up your insurance? If they did indeed intentionally rip you off, you should probably be contacting a lawyer. The fact they've gone to collections, sounds as if something changed on your policy that you were unaware of. I would discuss the issue with your insurance company.
