I went to the Immediate Care Center because I was suffering from dangerous night sweats, headaches, insomnia, and etc. I selected the urgent care center because I needed medical care without the high out-of-pocket health cost. After I had signed in, I was told that North Florida Express ER, replaced Immediate Care Center and that I would be charged like going to the ER. I was in so much pain that I just signed the papers even though I was warned.
I was grateful for the help the staff gave to me. They were very kind and took good care of me. However, I think it is wrong for North Florida Regional and Shands Hospitals to be buying out the urgent care centers in Gainesville, Florida and marketing their services like urgent care centers. Urgent care centers are being replaced with local hospitals express ER services, but are more costly.
Currently, I’m making medical payments on two medical bills I have accumulated from North Florida Regional Hospital ER.
