Oakley Muffler & Break replaced the flex pipe and broken manifold one year and one month ago on 2003 VW Jetta. They charged the owner $206.10. I have had the car for a month while the owner is in Mexico during this time I noticed the car sounded really loud one day. I took it into Oakley Muffler & Breaks to have they shop take a look at it. I was made aware that the very shop was the shop that had fixed the repair a year ago by the owner of the car’s brother in law. Before I said anything to them I was quoted $500.00 for the same repair. This is when I mentioned they had repaired the part one year ago. Seems they don’t keep good records of the service they do because they should have instantly seen the service work they did when I dropped it and put putting in the vehicle information on the invoice I signed when I dropped it off. This is why I was told only information they had on file for the repair was a date and no description of repair. The man behind the desk told me that I would have to wait a week to here from the owner as she was out of town.
I called today to follow up because I never heard from anyone from the shop. The owner is totally stupid, and rude, and makes excuses to not deal with the problem. She hasn't even taken down my information or asks to look at their invoice I found in the car from last year. She doesn't even know the situation and has shut me down because I’m not the owner hang up on me. When I called her back I asked her name Alma, she would give me her last name. I told her the owner won’t be here for another month and that I had proof the same person was still the registered owner. I also told her because she doesn't seem to want to even look into the situation and resolved this before the car got worse. I don't understand why the owner of the car has to be here and when I offered proof that the customer whom they did the repair for was still l the registered owner she didn't care. I told her I was forced to file a complaint with the BBB and Bureau of Automotive Repair she said I was threaten her and said she would then wait until someone contacted her then hung up. I hardly think my trying to resolve the situation with these public entities is threatening her under any law but I’m pretty sure she is breaking the law or some regulation. When I went to our counties business license records to search for the business and verify they in fact had a business license nothing came up.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB and to the Bureau of Automotive Repair in hopes to have the shop repair the part under warranty before it becomes a bigger problem than the one we all ready had. When the shop removed and replaced the flex pipe the motor mount had to be removed and when it was put back on the vehicle someone at the shop didn't put it back to get right which made the motor shift back and forth which caused the metal to break and the metal had to be welded. This is why the flex pipe has to be replaced again.
