My husband and I purchased a oak wood home in 2003. Shortly after we purchased we started having issues. First the floor caved in the kitchen , we replaced it . Next the roof came in the laundry room. We contacted now Vanderbilt , they said it was an insurance claim. No it was not , we had a 25 year warranty on the roof. We where told no . We called insurance they said no it's a manufacture issue they would not touch it, so we had someone fix that part. Next the master bedroom followed by the living room, In between the front wall by front door started getting smushy. Now the house is not livable. Vanderbilt was not only rude the refused to help in anyway. We contacted a lawyer , whom said you have a 50/50 chance to win in court. He recommended us to let it go back. In the process of some harassing and rude phone calls by Vanderbilt. We had to tell them months later after telling them to pick it up, and someone purchasing the mobile home and leaving it another 3 months after being formally evicted that the land owner was going to start charging them if it remained on the property. Finally it was removed. Now the issue remains that Vanderbilt has put it on our credit obviously . I believe that anyone who purchased a home and then it falls apart the first few years should not have to commit to a bogas contract where they could not even honor the end of the deal! My husband and I are trying to purchase a house and 2 months ago where we started a loan process Vanderbilt put we owe 37,000 something 2 months over due. Which is a lie it was 5 yrs ago that we started the voluntarily repo. Now we are indeed hurting from this horrible company. We are in despreat need of help! Please. Thanks in advance. People please do not use these people!

Buying another home had to get credit correct from Vanderbilt incorrect info. We need a paper stating we stopped dispute on incorrect info that Vanderbilt put on my husband so we can obtain a loan on new house. Vanderbilt wants 10% of old dept to give us a piece of paper stating we no longer dispute Vanderbilt ! Really!

My husband purchased a home in 2003 from oak brook , whom sold there business due to what I believe had to have been from making throw away homes ripping people off on interest paying 3 times more then what the trailer is actually worth..It started a few years after we purchached the home soft spot in kitchen where floor Began to fall in. We fixed that , we where told not their problem . Then the roof literally fell in on me while doing luandry . We went back and forth with insurance and now Vanderbilt they had bought out out previous company . No one would pay for it. So we paid for someone to come out and fix it. By 2009 the wall in living room be came squishy along with the roof once agin in living room fell in then master bathroom. Having had a 25 year warranty when we purchrased this home and now being told they would not honor our contract we sought out for a lawyer whoms told us we had a 50/50 chance if pursued lawsuit that it would probly be best to tell company just have it removed off my property which took almost a year for them to do so! Now they removed in 2011. We'll another issue has risen! We was trying to get my husbands credit clean with Vanderbilt , they had misleading info on it. We are now currently trying to buy a house that we have been doing owner finance for almost 3 years, now we need a conventional loan. I am on disability currently and do not have enough income to put in my name, so I need my husband on there and now can not. Due to the disputes we had on Vanderbilt the loan officer required a paper from Vanderbilt stating dispute is settled or off. Which is a lie for what they now have on my husbands credit report in which you can look at ant tell it's definitely not correct but by this time we are being told all we need is a paper saying dispute is no longer! So how about now Vanderbilt states they want 10% of what we owe them before they will give us a paper stating dispute is off that we are fine with there lie of a decision they placed on my husbands credit just so we can be done with the dispute the we hired Lexington law office to do to require a loan on a house we have been paying on for almost 3 years and time is giving out to get conventional loan. This has to be illegal some how! How can these crooks continue to ruin our lives and others. To boot they harrased us everyday for a year when we told them to come get the trailer if they wouldn't honor warranty on roof. These are incrediably rude people and they need to be ashamed of there selves , they can't even help out a little! I don't understand how they get away with the rudeness and ripping people off as they do. My heart is crushed right now. Even if we sue them it can go on for years. What about now ! I have beat cancer easier then this! I struggle enough with health and these people are not helping my mental state of mind either! It's heartbreaking and so un nessesry !!!!!! Sorry if out of content or misspelled I just had surgury few weeks ago still in pain and taking pain killers. I'm sure I have made a few mistakes and rambled on but this the most frustrating issue my husband and I have had to deal with! We was married in 2003 with a new home in which we thought would have had lasted longer then it did, and years later still affecting us!! We have even fostered teens that was easier then this and my health issues that I have battled over the years. We truly are good people who do not deserve this , my husband doesn't deserve this he is the best man hard working great persona all around he truly does not deserve the negativity these rude un ethical people have caused him/us!!!! As well as other, I have read so many sad stories with had ending bad with no help from once again rude workers from Vanderbilt !!! They should be shut done! Julie- SC Walterboro
