OAN Services, Inc. Billed for Services Never Ordered or Authorized Internet
While reviewing our AT&T residential bill, I noticed a new charge of $20.15 from OAN Services, Inc. I called to see who they were and what the charge was for. The operator there claimed that my wife had signed up for their unlimited long distance service.
I told her I was sure that was not correct. She then said that she signed up as part of a recipe/coupon offer. I got my wife on another extension, and she confirmed that she never signed up for this service.
Since we were billed by both AT&T and OAN for long distance on the same bill, I asked how it was possible to have two long distance services running concurrently? The representative (Edith) said that we had to cancel AT&T and then the service would just be through them. She also offered to reduce the monthly billing amount to an "employee" rate of $9.99. I asked if they had a web site, and after a delay while she "checked with her manager" she came back on the line and said no.
I advised her that we wanted the service removed, and after another short attempt to sell us on using their service, she agreed to cancel the service and refund all amounts charged to date within the next few billing cycles.
Looking them up on-line and finding countless complaints against them reveals why she was not eager to have me search for their web site.
I called AT&T and reported what happened and had them remove the charge.
