I am a student moving from Tucson Arizona to San Francisco CA, The apartment complex i am moving into has a web site to help you with moving, paying rent, setting up utilities etc. I thought this is great, i entered my information and movers contacted me with quotes. I chose Oasis moving and storage, they had the cheapest estimate of $1,365.00 for 1500ibs. 1500Ibs is the minimum weight They actually estimated me at 1300Ibs. and had an extremely helpful sales person (Missy Cordell.) Everything seemed to be going fine, the movers who were also very nice, and loaded my stuff extremely well and quickly. Not until later did i realize it was suspicious that they came in a rental truck. A few days later I got a call from Andrea Orellana who i now realize is quite notorious. She informed me that I was 500Ibs. over the 1500Ibs estimate, and that I owed 1400 more dollars on top of the $682.50 (half my estimate) i paid on pick up. I had maybe 5 small boxes over my inventory list i gave them for the estimate. Not to mention they're telling me that i have 2000Ibs. of stuff that i'm moving into a studio apartment that's approximately 430 square feet. I was extremely upset and my mother called Andrea and told her that the weight was ridiculous, Andrea bacame angry and told her that my stuff would stay in Las Vegas until we agreed to pay the new price. They're holding my stuff hostage. My mother then began to investigate online for herself. We discovered that they are not licenced, they have a class action law suit agaist them, they have gone bankrupt severasl times but change their name. They are also related to the Mafia in Florida. They hold your belongings hostage until you agree to pay whatever ridiculous charges they say (in cash) when you recieve it weeks or months later, your things are smashed beyond repair, and you can't do anything because you've signed a contract. I am Moving into my apartment on August 22, and am expecting my things to arrive 7 to 10 days after that. Hopefully someone can help me before I am screwed over like they've done to thousands of other people.
