You brand Ocwen evil and take up a crucade upon them! Yes Ocwen collects on credit cards, they have a large unsecured collections deptartment. And no marlene new century has not stopped buisness with Ocwen, where did you pull this out of (well one would hate to imagine). You fail to here complaints against the unsecured side of Ocwen collections largley impart due to its buisness mostly collections, some of it is personal such as the credit cards or charged off accounts from Ocwen. So chances are that credit card you state might be a legitatme card you failed to pay off is one you did. rob

First of all, all these predatory companies help each other all they can. Secondly, THERE IS AN OCWEN COLLECTION AGENCY inside the OCWEN BUILDING. They have a "collection license". For their arrogance and our amusement they use this information as a footnote in all their correspondence. To my understanding, it is illegal to do that if you are making your normal mortage payments. But Ocwen is not concerned about legalities, and his mother, sweet OTS, states her child has the right to do whatever he wants, and you know, it's OK for mama OTS. Ocwen used to offer refinancing to his own victims in the past. They also had the JETA (Spanish slang for fresh and hard face) to sell their stolen homes in their own website, not anymore. I don't know the reason for these restrictions. To add new inconveniences, they are copping with the fact that their biggest RICO friend, Lender New Century Mortg Corp., is not doing business with them anymore. Chances are New Cent. wants people to forget the complicity among them. Too many court cases against Ocwen in the entire nation. Also, Ocwen does everything possible to avoid refinancing with another company; but many victims are able to get out. The interest rates are lowering and lowering. Predatory legislation against them is growing and growing. So, I think that Ocwen is using its internal Collection Agency more now, desperate to make more money, and his buddies are trying to help him by providing new "collection" victims. They got you! Of course, they investigate your financial life and try to twist or bend something to make you guilty of some "unpaid" account. (THEY MAKE MORE MONEY OUT OF YOU AND SUBPRIME YOUR LIFE EVEN MORE) You got to defend yourself by getting new credit reports and adding "passwords" to your accounts. You are to make phone calls followed by certified letters. This should be a GREEN LIGHT for all of us. We must check our credit report very often (I do it on daily basis, but of course, I am a proud Ocwen's Paranoid). I guess checking your credit report ONCE a month should suffice. BEWARE, because Ocwen buys companies and people, even people from within his favorite Credit Agency. "LET THE TALKER BE CRAZY, IF THE LISTENER IS SANE" Never afraid.

Ocwen is a mortgage company??? The reason I ask..is that Ocwen recently sent me something in the mail that was puzzling. A demand notice for payment on a closed JCPenney's credit card. They claimed it was closed on for non-payment. Well, no, I never paid on it. Not once.. WHY?? Because I never HAD A JCPENNEY'S credit card!! Ever! When I called and asked about it, the representative said it was for a Visa credit card. (OK..so why did the notice say JCPenney??) Well, that Visa card was from years ago..and I was almost postive it was paid off. But, I figured maybe I hadn't paid it off..but still, in the back of my mind I was thinking "Why is this the first I'm hearing about this?" Now for the creepy part. Fairbanks is my mortgage company. You all know the one. And I'm having the same problems with them as everyone else is. Unjustified Late fees, forced place insurance when it's not needed... Oh and today I got a notice they're raising my mortgage payment $200 MORE because I have negative escrow. (????) And, if I pay the $1400 in escrow... they'll only raise my payment $100. Gee..how sweet of them. So NOW I see Ocwen is in with Fairbanks. It makes sense now. Why this Ocwen just appeared out of nowhere. I'm wondering .. do they just go thru people's credit reports..or dig thru old information to see how they can get more money out of them? Are people really that unscrupulous? I get the feeling I'm being watched by Big Brother Fairbanks.

I should have mentioned in my earlier post that: By no means would I ever expect Ocwen to comply with any customer request, no matter if it's backed by the law or not. Just that it should be known that they are breaking the law on a regular basis.

Jon, Granted that was a good suggestion, but when have you EVER heard that Ocwen obeyed the law? That is why there are so many posts on here because Ocwen DOESN'T obey the law. I wish that Mr. Hanson could get this lawsuit certified for all of us... My advice to the original post is this: Call Ocwen and change your phone number...if you have to, give them a fake number...If you are current with everything with then, that is what I would do, because that is what I have done. I too am current with them, but they don't have a current phone number for me. When they ask, I tell them I don't have a phone, when I fax something, my fax machine is set up as to not have my phone number on it so they can't tell where the fax came from. Now this is only if there might by some chance be some form of intellegence working there that would or could figure out the printing on the top of a fax and actually attach that number with the client...na, don't think that there is that type of intellectual life that works there... Every one should keep checking their credit bureaus on a regular basis too....

Once you tell them not to call you at your place of employment they must stop immediately. It's the law! There may be exceptions to this law but I have never heard of any. Ocwen operates much more like a collection agency than any bank I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I'm sure it was companys like ocwen that made such a law necessary. Good Luck!
