Do not go to this vet. My dog, Levi, passed away last week. I was advised to take him to the vet because he wasn’t eating (last Monday, July 31). I called Old Peachtree Animal Clinic (he had an established record with this office) and I made him an appointment for Tuesday. I told the receptionist we did not have any money to pay them that day and she said I could bring him in and speak with the veterinarian about payment options. His condition was rapidly deteriorating as he became so weak he could not stand on his own; he was vomiting and his stool was black. He did not have a fever and did not appear to have any pain when examined by touch. My husband got him to the office at 1:00PM and were advised a treatment plan would be in order. He had ulcers in his mouth and evidence he may have been poisoned, but without tests, it would be impossible to tell. The doctor gave my husband some treatment options, but we could not afford the out of pocket for the lowest cost option given to us ($233). It was Tuesday and we did not get paid until Friday. She refused to begin treatment and sent the dog home with an antibiotic prescription and advice to syringe pedialyte into his mouth for hydration. She told my husband we still owed her $40 for her assessment and told us to bring him back Friday when we got paid. My husband offered to pay her the entire amount Friday if she would treat the animal then and there rather than bill us for “nothing”. She still refused and my husband brought Levi home. I planned to get him to another veterinarian the next morning, but he did not make it through the night. He was gone within 12 hours of his office visit. An office person had the nerve to call me the next day (I am assuming to collect the $40, but when they heard me crying and after I informed them the dog was gone, they told me to call them back.) I have contacted the GVMA for assistance on how to file a formal complaint against Dr. Renee Green Solomon. I wouldn't set foot in this place with my beloved pet, so please beware.

Sorry for your loss

The loss of a pet is a very difficult one. We are sorry to hear that sweet Levi passed away. He was a sweet dog and we remember him well. Please give us a call when you are ready to discuss his case further. Our doctors and staff work to provide as many medical and treatment options as possible for the pets and families in our care.

Unfortunately as a small business, we do not provide billing options, as stated on signs and client forms. Sadly, finances are always a concern for families of uninsured patients. We provide Carecredit and alternatives whenever possible for clients to pursue, which were suggested but declined. We also provide written prescriptions for generic or discounted medications and discuss as many aggressive and conservative options (treatment options) when illness presents.

We will never know what else, if anything would have been able to save Levi, as treatments and testing were not possible. We believe we treated Levi and your husband with dignity and compassion, attempting what was within reason budget wise. We always do next day follow up calls regardless of outstanding balances.
