Olympic Moving & Storage/world Moving Services olympic size scam & rip-off DO NOT USE! them or WORLD MOVING SERVICES Skokie Illinois
First off to whom it concerns,do not use ANY moving co.My move started in july 2008 when i moved from mich. to Texas,after searching for what i thought was a reliable company i found WORLD moving services had the best price and promised delivery within 3 to 7 days. Karlos,from world moving quoted a price of 2600$ after over estimating the weight of my belongings assured me it would be less because of this,said they have trucks going to Texas from MICH 2 to 3 times a week and delivery would be more like 3 to 5days and the same truck and workers that load it take it to delivery site and unpack and reassemble (didn't happen)Instead,my job was sold to Olympic,w/out my knowledge.I'm a single person moving from a 800sq foot mobile home so not much to move.
So the day of the move i'm told by this scam artist Karlos that a truck will be there at 6pm.So two guys pull up 3 hrs late in the dark with a 20ft rental truck,can hardly speak english.wouldn't accept my packing containers,had to buy boxes from them at 25 to 30$ apeice! had a extra large motorcycle included in bid,couldn't take it (TO heavy for ramp) had to ship it another way my self.Long story short,didn't see my things for a month,olympic would not return calls,they even hung up on me at times and wouldn't tell me where my stuff was gave me three false delivery times over 3 week period,they even called me once and asked if i had my things!they didn't know where it was.I was left in a empty house with two children and a weeks worth of clothes for a month and had to buy things i already owned to survive.Come to find out olympic sub-contracted my load to a third carrier and was now demanding another 1000$ to deliver,at this point i contacted my congressman for help along with Agents at the Federal motor carrier dept in Washington(202-366-4172) and the Surface Transportation board(202-245-0245) DO NOT USE WORLD MOVING SERVICES(Florida) OR OLYMPIC MOVING AND STORAGE in Skokie Illinois.They need to be put out of buisness and face charges
