Option One Mortgage ripoff! Prepayment penalty not disclosed! Misleading information! Rip-off! Irvine California
I did not realize until I sold my house that I had a prepayment penalty. The loan officer, Fred Costillos, knew that I wanted flexibility and no prepayment penalty. The clause with the penalty was never pointed out to me. I questioned the "may" require prepayment. I was told that this did not mean that there was one.
The company refused to cooperate with my realtor and delayed much of the paperwork. We rescheduled the closing so that I could receive my check and get the $7000 prepayment penalty waived.
The company refused to waive even part of the penalty. I was simply told that I signed the papers and there was nothing I could do about it. I feel like a fool!
