Hi all!! I am estatic!! The call came this am and she told me, "she has done the investigation" She stated that AT&T Mangagement will buy back that account from Palisades, (as it seems that will be the only way to stop them is my assumption). She said this may take up to 2 months or so to complete. I dont think she is giving me lip service, I feel she is genuine and being honest. I curiously asked her "will they be persuing the real owner of this debt?" She said she couldnt say. I then said "Is that because it is NOT MY ACCOUNT and you cant give me any information?" She said yes. She told me she would call me soon!

At this point, AT&T has sold your debt to Palisades Collection. They've collected what they can from Palisades. I personally think you're getting lip service from AT&T, but that's just me. You may be dealing with this until the Statute of Limitations on this runs out in several years; heck it may already have run out.

Another fact that is interesting, is that my credit report has never listed AT&T as a debtor (of course not, I have never had an account with them, ever!) But, surely if someone didnt pay their debt, that bad debt, late pay or whatever would certainly be placed on thecredit report , back when whomever didnt pay, before it was turned into collections, would it not??!! Plus Palisades is not on my report either!! I have excellent credit!! I told AT&T that I believe that they AT&T, has it on the rightfull owner of this debt.. credit report (that is why it is not on mine), Palisades cant do anything to my credit as they dont have my FULL SS# Plus the billings they think are mine are not! I did note however that AT&T Management were being a bit more careful on what they were telling me. She did say that once she looked into this further and spoke with Palisades, she would mail me a verification that clears me.

Confused John, I am a Victim of Palisades Collections, LLC They have forced me to deal with them for the past few years, I had NO CHOICE!! I have tried to work with them with a positive and optimistic attitude, all the while thinking this cant be true THESE PEOPLE REFUSE TO UNDERSTAND THAT I AM THE WRONG PERSON!! Now, I dont want to deal with PALISADES COLLECTIONS, LLC anymore...as they are either of low intelligence or not trained well enough to know the difference between right and wrong, even when it is right in front of their faces... I believe their collection agents just dont give a d**n... really and truely! They are there to make there quotas... money and refuse to understand.... thats it ! I want to try and deal with the original debtor of this debt as they sold it to Palisades. I called AT&T when I first received this notice and they told me Palisades has the WRONG PERSON, even though I called Palisades and told them to call AT&T, they tell me they dont do that and continues to harrange and harrass me with billing letters. I truely believe PALISADES COLLECTIONS, LLC expects "THEIR VICTIM" to pay! Although I have heard THEIR ARE OTHER VICTIMS who did pay just to stop the nightmare and stress, and then they found it was an admission of an extremely late bill. I have chosen the stance of "THIS VICTIM WILL NOT PAY" AS I HAVE NEVER ... EVER HAD AN AT&T ACCOUNT IN MY LIFE... NOW, NOR WILL I EVER! AT&T better help me get PALISADES COLLECTIONS,LLC away from me!

Why would you read the above and think Paula is quilty... you sound like Palisades Collection Agent. Like they, you have plucked out one sentence of the entire statement and choose to debate it and not obsorb the whole of this attack on an innocent upstanding citizen. Explaination: Because Paula has spent a couple years trying to help Palisades Collections, LLC understand that she has NEVER had an account with AT&T and they just will not listen. She has recruited her family, friends and work associates to watch over her letters. faxes and phone calls. as helpers and witness. It is like their employees "collection agents" of Palisades, dont care if they have the wrong person. The innocent have to plea and plea with no resolve. Thus, she does not want to deal with the Collection Agency atall, anymore!! She wants to deal with the orignial business who sold this to Palisades so that theyc an clear this up! She wants the original business AT&T to force Palisades to remove her "the wrong person" from their collections procedure.

Paula, First of all, under no circumstances should you ever speak to any third party debt collector on the phone. NEVER for any reason! Do everything in writing, and NEVER sign anything sent to a debt collector as your signature will most likely end up on a contract! Second, NEVER give a debt collector / JDB any personal, banking, or employment information! You gave the last 4 of your SS#. NEVER do this!! The entire burden of proof is ON THEM to prove that you owe the debt. You NEVER have to prove that you don't. Third, the "original creditor" is TOTALLY out of the picture, and should NEVER be contacted! This can only make things worse for you. Now, keep this letter short and sweet. send it by certified mail, return reciept requested. be sure to put the certified# on the letter itself, and keep a copy for your records. This proves exactly what you sent. In this letter, only provide info to them that they already have, nothing more, and do not sign the letter, just print. Respond only to the return address they provided on the collection letter. Inform them that this is a final notification to cease all collection efforts on this alleged debt as it is not yours. Also demand that any credit reporting be removed immediately. Inform them that failure to comply immediately will result in an immediate lawsuit and possible criminal fraud charges as applicable. Demand a copy of whatever signed contract they have with your signature on it that created the alleged debt as well as a full account history and itemization of charges. Inform them that they will need this in court, and they should have had it before ever contacting you.

why would you say this if you are not the one they are looking for? "I/We have decided that we do not desire to work with a collection agency under any circumstances. I/We will contact the original creditor to resolve this matter directly, as circumstances warrant" And who is "we"? You kind of gave them an opening that you may in fact be who they are looking for. If you weren't, there would be no need to work with them or any original creditor as YOU would not have an original creditor to work with.
