Paschall trucklines hired 56 drivers on January 9, 2009. They only had trucks for maybe 6. Paschall then brought in drivers with high pay rate and found reason to fire them. Some for over 25%idle (in the middle of winter) Do the math, that's 6 hrs! We were told to sleep in truck stops if we needed more than that.
Recruiting department gave us various starting pay rates according to our years of employment. After 2 days of orientation, each of us was brought to the front and showed what our pay rate would be on a slip of paper . All of us were told it was .34 or they would get us a bus ticket home without pay for the time spent. We were required to sign off on this offer.
We were required to buy their tools and locks at a cost of $450 to be refunded at Murray office only. Of the friends I met no one was allowed to get to Murray when they were fired, or had taken all they could stand and gave notice.
I gave them notice of my youngest son's wedding one month ahead, reminded them every week, then every couple of days on the last week. They left me sitting 300 miles from home for 3 days, I got home 2 days after the wedding. My daughter -in-law really has used that to come between my son and I.
Sould you decide to go to work for them anyway, don't tell them you need to get home at a certain time, I had better luck not letting them know I was needed at home. Then they would get us home with in 6 days.
They came and picked-up my truck and trailer because I asked for a 1/2 day off I hadn't earned. Funny it was right at my year when I became eligible for benifits, yes a year before health insurance, short term /long term disability. Good luck,
