Just over a year ago, we purchased a beautiful, blonde, female lab puppy from Patty. Within three days of having her at home, our vet determined she had a bladder/kidney infection (E-coli). This was no minor infection . . .it took us nearly a full year of medication, vet visits, and two visits to Virginia Tech's Animal Hospital for scoping and other invasive procedures to properly diagnose and cure it. We've spent literally thousands in medication and vet care. She is finally cured of the kidney infection. On her most recent vet visit, the vet found cataracts on her eyes. She is 1 yr 4 months old now (March 2008) and far too young for cataracts. Our vet tells us this is absolutely hereditary, however, Patty told us both Lily (Mom) and Cooper (Dad) were screened for all health concerns.

We are disappointed in the health of our dog.

All of our visits to Patty's seemed great . . .the place was always clean and the dogs appeared to receive great care. Our dog is VERY sweet natured and loving. She is intelligent and has been very well behaved. We would not trade her personality and love her dearly. She is a member of our family and we are blessed to be able to provide the care she has needed.

I caution anyone considering a blonde lab from Patty's to actualy request proof of the Vet screening of the parents. We took her word for it and got burned. The parents of our lab were Lily and Cooper.

You're right when you stated the reason for sites like this is to provide information to others in order to help them make well informed decisions about future purchases or business transactions.  However, just the facts please.  Slamming another individual for a misspelling or typo is low.  And furthermore, if you're going to stoop so low as to question their education or intelligence, you need to check your own spelling.  The correct spelling is "dollars" not "dollors".

OH BOY DO I GET IT!!!! The Ophthalmologist is a LIER (Dr Sigle & Dr Nasisse) at Carolina Veterinary Specialist in Greensboro. If these Doctors said Lily and Cooper didn't have any inhereditary eye disease I must have paid them off to report that. The three veterinarians that I talked to about kidney and bladder infections are liers also. Maybe I gave the kidney infection to this puppy (after all when I was 15 yrs old I had one). Who knows because I'm not very educated - I spelled a word wrong in the last message. You say WHY should anonymous contact me - because that is HER job. It is HER job to give me veterinarian documentation that her lab has a problem. You don't know if Yada Yada would have taken place, because you didn't give me the chance to do or say anything at all. Not even to show you Lily or Cooper's health clearences. I don't even have a name for anonymous. So I am so done with this YES I said DONE.......... Sorry to the public for my attitude today. Patty

Say you do not understand why people think this ripoff report site can help them solve their problems? Let me try and explain it to you. People visit this site in hopes of warning others about places like yours. To try and keep others from making the same mistake. It's called trying to help others, buyer beware! get it? You said in your last paragraph that you are not a (layer) you mean lier. Obviously you must not be a very educated person. My friend has spent hundreds of dollors on her Lab. Now she has Veterinarian documentation that her Lab has hereditary Cataracts. As you stated you are not a Veterinarian, all you can say is Lilly and Cooper are cerf normal / clear. Well Yada Yada Yada, You pull a few things out of a book somewhere and think that makes everything ok. All this does not change the fact that her Lab has been sick for well over a year and is still having problems. Why should she contact you so you can just hand her a line of Bull Crap and hide behind your contract, make all the excuses you feel you need to make. Thanks to this site others will think twice before purchasing a puppy from you. You also stated that you are not a Puppy Mill or a Back Yard Breeder. Who are you trying to convience your self or others?

Dear Anonymous, I don't know why you didn't contact me if you had an issue. But that is beside the point now I guess. I don't understand why people think ripoffreport can help them or solve their problems. Anyone can go to this site and write what ever they want with no proof or education about breeding. We do not claim to know it all that is why our names don't have DVM behind it. BUT we know where to get info from when it is needed. So I did a little research & talked with a couple of Veterinarians to get some answers myslef. This is what I found out... #1 According to K9Nutrition-There is no mystery where the e.coli came from. It came from the puppies own digestive tract. Urinary tract infections with e.coli are due to fecal matter getting into the urinary tract. ALL puppies, adult dogs and all humans normally have e.coli in their bowel. It is not just normal, it's beneficial as e.coli are one of the normal intestinal bacteria that help ferment and digest our food. The urinary tract, unlike the digestive tract is supposed to be sterile. Like anything else though, no system is perfect and somtimes a bit of fecal material does get smeared around the urethral opening, even in males. maybe even from something as simple as the puppy sitting in a bit of poop! This particular problem has nothing to do with contamination, diet or antibiotic resistance. This is just a hygiene issure, plain and simple. And puppies, like kids are not what you'd call "clean machines". Per K9Nutrition Christie Keith. #2 Then Mike Richards DVM also states that E.coli is a normal inhibitant of the digestive tract of pets. It is also transmitted to dogs through cat feces. It is a valid fact that cat feces will cause e.coli in dogs. Now as for Anonymous saying that my Lily and Cooper gave their puppy cataracts... We do testing all the time & have plenty of vet bills to show anyone who wants to see it. This year alone 1/15th Cody, Breanna & Piper was OFA (hips). the same day Cooper & Megan were at Carolina Veterinarian Specialist for CERF eye exams. So accoring the Cooper's CERF#LR-50668/2008-53 (NO INHERITED EYE DISEASE FOUND). Feb 14th Megan, Tucker & Sophie were in for OFA (hips). Mar & April I didn't do anything exam wise, I did taxes.... May 14th I started back again Duncan, Quennie & Chatty had OFA (hips). May 15th Rusty, Porter & Freida had OFA done. June 30th OFA for Daisy & Rose. On July 17th CERF for eyes on Nina, Nikki, Lenny and Wendy. Then if that's not enough I found this report... So I called Carolina Veterinary Specialists agian to set up ANOTHER appointment for Lily. GUESS WHAT!!! She said Lily's eyes are perfect. I have sent off 10 more CERF papers and expect to get them back any day now. According to the Dr they were all good. Now just for future reference Aug 13th Lennie, Zoey and Lucy Love are set up for OFA, then Aug 20th Ruby and Zac are set up. The main reason I'm telling the public all this -- I'm not a layer... I'm not a puppy mill or back yard breeder. I do these things for my dogs & my puppies, it has nothing to do with anyone else. I am totally dedicated to what I'm doing and will give it 110%. Nothing in this world is perfect BUT i give you my best every time. That's all I can do. And if there is a problem I'm here for you and my puppy. But you have to come to me. I can't read minds or see into the future. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
