Of course the Insurance Company had no complaint. They are in bed with PDR. PDR has done an excellent job of sucking up to the insurance companies to get on their "prefered" vendor lists. We have the similar issues with PDR in Tampa, and our insurance company also has no complaints with PDR service or quality either. But heres the proof: 2 separate engineering companies (both ours and PDR's) AND the county building services departmart have validatred that my home reconstructed by PDR has over 100 code violations. But as in this case the insurance company has no complaints in fact they continue to use PDR as a "prefered" vendor. HOMEOWNERS BEWARE PDR + INSURANCE COMPANY = Pain Deceit and Regret

At Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling in Greer, we are committed to providing quality work and customer satisfaction. This has been a company standard for over 40 years and has been a major factor in our ongoing success both locally and nationally. Naturally, when we see something such as this report filed by Robin there is cause for concern. Naturally we wish that we could have resolved her issues outside this public forum and ended up with a satisfied customer - as we generally do. However, since this report was filed, we feel that we must comment in response. While a few of Robin's complaints were legitimate (these were addressed with the customer), most were either inaccurate or exaggerated. The insurance company who was handling this claim had no complaint with the service we provided. The informed reader should also be aware that, after this customer decided not to have our firm complete the work at her home, she fired two more subsequent contractors. The trauma and shock from the devastation of a home fire can sometimes cause heightened emotions and rather irrational reactions. Perhaps this was the situation in this case. Our company regularly does customer satisfaction surveys on which our office scores extremely high at all times. More often, after a job, we receive comments such as this recent one from Belinda: "We want to thank you again for the work that Paul Davis Restoration completed at our home....Please extend our thanks to Kristi Durham and her entire team....if one does (experience a loss at their home) Paul Davis Restoration is the company to call. Their professionalism, promptness and willingness to "make it right" is above and beyond. We (now) consider Kristi a friend. How often does that happen?!" At Paul Davis we stand by our pledge which states that we will always be: -Respectful of your needs and courteous to you -Reliable and consistent in our response and quality of work -Efficient and on schedule -Expert in everything we offer -Conscientious about how we take care of your property -Prepared so that disruption is minimized -Honest and thorough in our communications

I would like to include the following to my previous report. Since we fired Gordon McPhee of Paul Davis Restoration on December 31, 2007, we had to get our insurance adjustor to call Mr. McPhee to finally return our stove and dishwasher that they removed from the house the first week they started the work. They had originally told us these items would have to be replaced, and that's why they took them from the house, and back to their warehouse in Greer. On the estimate they finally provided to the insurance company for the total work to be done, they did NOT include a new stove and dishwasher...they only included resetting these items. If that was the case, then why did they take them from our property?? If our insurance adjustor had not contacted them and demanded our property returned, we'd still not have it back. They stole it, and got caught. Also, they delayed any work our new contractor could do on our home by not removing their name from the work permit on the property location, for a month. This was intentional. Our insurance company paid them for their work at least a month ago. Included in that payment, was the total for the new kitchen flooring that they ordered at least 2 months ago. When our new contractor tried to pick up that flooring to be installed next week, he found that they never paid for it, even though they have already been paid by the insurance company. Again, it took our insurance adjustor calling and demanding they pay within the hour for this flooring, so the new contractor could get it and have it installed. These people are not just bad, they are crooks. They stole our appliances, and only returned them after the ins. company called them on it. When I asked the company about it, specifically Ian Thomas, he said "it was an oversight". They were fired over a month ago, yet kept our appliances from an oversight? They also had their secretary phone me last week asking for our mortgage loan number, over the phone. She said they had received paper work from our mortgage company, to process the payment received from the insurance company. When I questioned what paper work they had received, since we had received nothing about them from our mortgage company, she put me through to the person that handles these issues in their office. She then told me they did NOT have any paperwork from our mortgage company...I said, then why are you calling me, and she replied that she didn't know! So why call?? Our name was not on the check issued to them from the insurance company. If they didn't have any paper work from the mortgage company, and our name wasn't on the check, then why did they want our loan number given to them over the phone?? They are crooks, that's why! Don't EVER work with these people...I don't care who recommends them to you. Even if you insurance company recommends them to you, like ours did. Our new contractor has told us that he's heard from several other contractors in this area, that Gordon McPhee and the crew at Paul Davis Restoration in Greer are thieves....not just that they are slack, but that they are thieves. We believe this, from our own experience. Everyone we've spoken to around here, who has had any experience with Paul Davis Restoration, just shakes their heads, and says they are terrible. We are very thankful that we got out from under them when we did. Everything they promised that they would do, they did not include on the work estimate for the insurance company.Thankfully our new contractor got all that covered and even more. We have a wonderful adjustor too, that has been a tremendous help in dealing with these crooks. I will be submitting a letter to State Farm about this company they referred us to right after the fire, with our complaints. I would love to see this company investigated. They use illegals, they steal from you, and they lie to you. Pretty sad.
