Paul Davis Restoration Difficult to make money when they dont pay you. Kalamazoo Michigan
I should have listened to my elders in this case. This company is huge at over promising and under delivering. We have been promised multiple projects that magically fell through, and usually upon arriving at the job sites, the homeowners were upset. I have read all of the complaints on this site, and none of them were from our local branch. I just don't understand why they take advantage of their tradesmen and expect the world out of them.
I understand that there may be some restructuring of the business or whatever, but the customers that they have are without their homes for however long it takes for the project to be completed. Their framing crews are often underknowleged and they don't pre screen their trades. They also promise the world to their customers and expect the contractors to give it to them. They are very slow at answering questions, but very quick to take your money.
I strongly recommend researching and prescreening any contractor who you hire to work on your home. I also recommend in the event that you have a loss, that you listen to the insurance company as to whom you hire to put your home back together. I suggest using sites such as servicemagic.com or bidmyjob.com because these contractors are pre-screened and typically have references.
Although not all of the jobs are bad with this company, there have been a few and I know a lot of contractors who have parted ways with Paul Davis specifically because they have gotten screwed out of money on many occasions. If you are a contractor, tread lightly-do not put too much stock into this company, if you are a homeowner, find out exactly who the contractors are working on your homes, and get customer references from them.
